8) OBJECTIVE ; In the end of this lesson the children can be able to;
1) Understand the based of the story
2) Can make paper dolls.
SKILLS ; Fine motor skills( involve in colour the paper dolls),listening,reading and speaking.
MATERIALS ; Paper dolls custome worksheets,a set of paper dolls,colour pencils,speakers, a set of paper
dolls ready made entitled ‘The Legend Of Mahsuri’
1. Teachers greet the children and ask how they feels today.
2. Ask them if they see what teacher brought.
3. Explain today activity to them .
4. The teacher firstly act in front the children with paper dolls that teachers brought.
5. After that, teacher make a big circle group and give paper dolls worksheets to children.
6. With teacher help the children begin to colour the paper dolls that teacher had gives .Then, teacher helps children to cut it.
7. After finish coloring and cutting, teacher calls children to asks them according to what they have learns in the class.
8. The teacher congrats the children for their effort.
11. From the observation, I can say that Aira is a quiet girl but when I ask the teacher,the
teacher said Aira is a talktative girl.So maybe she was shy to the stranger.For that,to make
her confortable ,I always talk and praise her colouring so she slowly open up. From the
activity that we make Aira only can scribling at the paper. She also use many colour pencil
to colour the picture. Although she silent,she always do what I ask her.For example, when I
ask her to come to the front to show her picture she came to the front. She also can follow
the instrution and pay attention to the story when telling story time.
12. Interpretation
For conclusion Aira and the other children like to dance with the music.They like to
move around.For example a children ask if we had baby Shark song. So for other
time,we must use song to attract the children. When I play the Omar dan Hana song
Aira and her friends sing a long. So that prove that they were comfortable with us.
14. Muhammad Aryan Anaqi is a boy that on his 4 years old period. When I met him for the first
time, I can sense that he is maybe a very active child. And, fortunately, my guess was right.
When all five of us reached there, Aryan was the first one that approached us bravely,
especially to me. When we started our paper doll’s performance, he was actively asking us a lot
of questions, whether it is about the performance or something that related to our personal
life. Because of his kind of personality, a style of static movement or to stay at a same place for
a long time, it’s just not him. When the colouring session is in progress, I can see that he
frequently changed his place from one to another in just a few minutes.
15. Interpretation
Aryan is like the other common children, except for the fact that he has a very bright personality. He
can’t sit at a same place for a longer time, like the other majority children do. He also like to ask
questions a lot more than the others, whether it is related to the original subject (example: paper
doll’s performance) or something that does not related to it at all. So, by that, I can see and analyse
that he will become an adult that like to think outside of the box (creative and innovative person).
17. When i saw him for the first time, i think Muhammad Adam Uais he is very talented in coloring.
He knows to distinguish the colour of the hair, clothes and pants paper dolls. Muhammad Adam
also know to colour the paper dolls not across the line. When, i give him instructions he can
receive it. I tell him “Adam this is how to colour the right way” and he say, “okey”. Furthermore,
he was good in sharing his colour pencil to another kids . When, he was coloring paper dolls, he
is very focused on the coloring. If another child distracted him, he just ignore it and continue to
finish his task that we are given to him
18. Interpretation
Through this experience it is evident that Muhammad Adam Uais is a nice boy and have a
high discipline in itself. He is also very talented in creativity that is , coloring art. Muhammad
Adam ask me “ Teacher , can you help me choose a colour pencil ?”. That means he really
want to do the best for his task so he ask me to pick the right colour pencil to him. I hope he
can success in his life and become a good man in future.
20. Rania the one of kids were like to heard the stories, she told me that, at home every night her
mother telling her some stories until she’s asleep. Then, when our group presenting the paper
doll story with the legend of Mahsuri. Rania was so focus and she looks like wanted to
understand what the stories is about. And then, after we are finish she asked,’ why Mahsuri was
killed? And why her husband did not help her?’. Rania is actually poor at communicate with
other but she like to asking when she did not understand and she always smile when look at
other. However, she was easy to listen and follow the instruction given such as, our group said
start colouring then she the one who get first the colour pencil. In addition, Rania also good at
colouring the paper doll, its like she know what the colour is suitable for dress, hair, skin and so
on. The last thing about Rania is, she is very good friend. Rania help the other kids to colouring.
21. Interpretation
Through this observation, it is evident that Rania have a good behavior and have a kind heart. I
notice something special about Rania, that is she act like a sister and looks like mature. This is
because, the scene I saw her help the kids to colouring, even she not finished yet her colouring . And
the last, Rania like to talk when necessary and asking when she did not understand.
23. When I first saw Affina I can see that she is a clever girl. Compare to other child, she
listened to what we talk and follow all the instruction given. When colouring the paper
dolls, she know what colour that suitable to colour the paper dolls. As for example, she
colour the hair of the paper dolls into purple colour, but then she changed it into black
colour. This is because she know that black is very suitable to colour the hair. Affina
also can speak well in English. As she came to me, she spoke in English when she
asked me something. When I watched her colouring the paper dolls, she told me that
she want to colour with her friends. From this, I can see that Affina is a soft-spoken
child. This is because she will ask a permission first before she want to do something.
24. Interpretation
Affina can learned how to play a paper dolls after we showed them how to play
it. Children like them need more attention no matter in what they do. As for
example, Affina herself need an attention when she is colouring the paper dolls.
She will asked me “Teacher, pretty or not?” by showing her work. So that,
teacher should know what activity that can attract children attention who is
below 5 years old.
26. - Some of us are diploma graduates of early childhood
- Most of us are very familiar with children and
have a great creativity aspect
27. - Hard to hold a meeting because of our
different schedules
- Hard to find a suitable time for us to do
the activity at daycare
28. - There are a lot of daycare for us to
choose on.
- A few daycare give a fast respond for our
application, whether got accepted or
rejected.
29. - Had to compete with the other UPSI students to get a daycare
on our chosen date and time.
- Had to find the date that can be agreeable by the daycare's
side (based on their free and suitable date/time)
