5. The stitching of siccer ball industry shifted from village homes to Factories or
centralized Workshops.
Non Formal education centers were established to provide education upto grade 5
to the affected children.

6. It was in the FIFA World Cup 2010 that the Pakistani
soccer ball didn’t win a place in the grand tournament
for the first time in a long time, and instead, the
machine-made Chinese ball was selected over the
hand-made Pakistani ball.
But as the tournament progressed, the Chinese ball
came under heavy criticism for its inaccuracy and
difficulty to control and dribble.
All this forced Adidas to return to its most acclaimed
soccer ball variation line ever – The Tango, bearing
the ‘Made in Pakistan’ tag.
7. Sialkot is the only city of Pakistan where 99% products are exported to various
countries of the World
Sialkot based small and medium industries are earning foreign exchange of over
US 1.6 billion dollars annually through exports and strengthening the national
economy.
The cluster of firms produces 30 million soccer balls a year, or about 40% of World
production, including match balls for 2014 World cup, about 70% of World hand-
stitched production.
In 2000, the exports of soccer balls from this cluster to US was worth USD 23.2
million Dollars.
