2. What is a Fracture.?
Comminuted fractures are severe fractures that involve the breaking of a
bone into several smaller pieces.
There are many of different types of fractures ranging from minor to
major.
These are few fractures ranging from minor to major are simple fractures,
compound fractures , comminuted fracture, greenstick fractures, avulsion
fractures, transverse fractures and many more.
4. Oblique Fractures
Oblique fracture happen at the angle of
the bone as written on page 102 chpt 4.
Oblique fractures are caused by an injury
to the bone as the result of a fall,
accident, or other trauma or disorders
such as osteoporosis and cancer, put
some people at higher risk for injury
An oblique fracture can be serve but can
be treated by surgery in some instance
some pain medication can cure the pain
but not the fracture,
5. Greenstick fracture
A greenstick fracture is an in complete break; one side of the bone
is broken and the other side of the bone is bent.
Greenstick fractures are commonly found in children due to their
softer and more pliable bone structure.
These are the events when fractures may occur:
•Playing contact games like hide and seek
•Playing in high places
•Tripping
•Running on uneven surfaces
•Putting much weight on the limb
Usually the harmed part is the arm bones because of the tendency
to guard or throw out the arms to stop oneself from falling
Greenstick fractures can be treated by pulling the bone apart and
straightening it, surgery , or a sling for recovery depending on how
server the fracture is.
6. Spiral Fractures
A spiral fracture is an fracture in which
the fracture lines are spiral around the
shaft of the bone.
Spiral fractures can be caused by a
twisting force and result in an oblique or
spiral type of fracture
