1. Supports New Product Development: High visibility position Interaction with customers and internal cross functional teams along with all facets of the internal and external supply chain organization Strategic Sourcing Specialist Position (Subcontract Procurement Specialist - Co-located with the Program Management Team with functional reporting to Procurement Manager) Support offshore sourcing initiatives. Coordinate the flowdown of program specific customer terms and conditions to component suppliers. Support material/services acquisition for new product development. Assume a principal role in formal cost reduction programs for new and legacy products for the aerospace industry. Responsible for developing, negotiating and administering highly complex and high risk subcontracts, ensuring compliance on supplier cost, schedule, legal and performance requirement. Selects qualified suppliers and manufacturers and develops new supply sources of high dollar value, long lead time, critically needed parts, equipment, materials, or service. Performs material planning duties related to assigned commodities. Develops company negotiation strategies based on an evaluation of cost and pricing data. Negotiates long-term contract agreements with key suppliers. Conducts supplier site visits. Processes purchase requisitions and issues purchase orders which may also include orders with international suppliers and/or subcontractors involving import/export trade. Realize cost reductions and procurement process improvements. Working with internal customers to ensure sourcing requirements are met. Acts as consultant to senior management on major matters. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field (e.g. supply chain/operations, finance, law/contract law; program management), or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. (MBA a plus) Demonstrated ability to perform the job typically acquired through 8 or more years of increasingly responsible experience in procurement or contract administration including two or more years of high-level project and customer/supplier management. Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or Contracts Management and prior international subcontracting experience desired. Due to government contracts, U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required.
