The Challenges of AI & Predictive Analytics
E. Zimlichman., E et al, Journal of Hospital Medicine. 2012, 7(8), 628–633.
Effective Medical Predictive
Analytics requires:
1. Accurate Sensing
2. Timely prediction
3. Driving intervention for
outcome improvment
15. Value Proposition: Improved Clinical Results
The Implementation of The EarlySense Solution is Reported by Hospitals to Reduce These Critical
Parameters: data collected in 10 hospitals on over 10,000 patients. Sample results:
181. Based on 7,643 Patients’ Clinical Trial
2. Slight, SP et al, Society of General Internal Medicine
3. April 2013. 3. Palace, ZJ et al, AGS. May 2013

17. Conclusions
• Early warning score tools can be used to identify low
risk patients, not just high risk patients
• A protocol of skipping overnight vital signs on low risk
nights combined with continuous monitoring is safe
and feasible
• Low risk patients on such a protocol did not have any
increased risk of adverse events and reported better
sleep and increased satisfaction with nursing care

(*) It is not possible to precisely determine the overall clinical and economic impact of implementing EarlySense systems globally. However, assuming that the outcome achieved in every bed is in line with the results published in
the American Journal of Medicine in relation to reduction of adverse events are applicable worldwide, it is generally estimated that by early detection and intervention, clinicians were able to impact patients and hospitals as outlined herein.
