quickly as a non- learning
disabled child does.

Disability in basic reading. It involves difficulty in
understanding the relation ship between
sounds, letters and words. It affects the ability to

b) Learning disability in reading comprehension
It affects the learners ability to understand the
meaning of words, sentences, and paragraphs.
1- DYSLEXIA

It involves difficulty in the physical act of writing
and the mental activity if comprehending and
synthesizing information.
it is of two types
a) Learning disability in basic writing
b) learning disability in expressive writing.

• This learning disability involves
difficulty in memorization and
organization of members,
operation signs and numbers. A
child ability to do mathematics will
be affected differently by a
language learning disability, a
visual disorder or difficulty with
sequencing, memory and
organaisation.

• Learning disability in motor skills.
• This refers to the problems with
movement and co ordination. They may
be fine motor skills(cutting, writing)or
gross motor skills(running, jumping). It
involves problems with colouring, cutting,
writing, buttoning and tying shoes.

9. 5- DYSPHASIA/ APHASIA
• Learning disability in language
• It implies the inability to understand
and produce spoken language. It
involves problems with verbal
language skills, such as the ability to
retell a story and the fluency of
speech, as well as the ability to
understand the meaning of words,
part of speech, directions etc.
