Who would be you audience for your media
1. WHO WOULD BE YOU AUDIENCE
FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
By Myles Head
2. When starting my magazine I had to create a
mood board in which I described the interests
of my targeted audience .
I aimed my magazine at the ages of 15-22
males. I wanted the magazines focus to be on
trending “Pop” music. I also created a
questionnaire that I gave to other people it the
age range and I looked at their interests. I also
as a male in the age range between I looked at
my own interests to see what I would be
personally interested in when it came to
magazines. Due to this I looked to the examples
from recent Q magazines.
3. This is from the mood board I created when I firs started this project.
4. When designing the Front cover I
looked to other similar magazines,
I looked at the type of person on
the front cover, I looked at what
they were wearing and how there
expressions were.
The name of the brand “Synth”
was the most popular among the
people who filled in the
questionnaire, I also chose it as is
an instrument that features
heavily in pop music.
I also included in my pug “Win
Spotify Premium” this was meant
to interest technophiles who use
Spotify to listen to music.
My sell lines were used to intrest
the age group, for example “New
UrbanTrends” and “PlanYour
Concerts”.
5. Also to interestTechnophiles I included things
like theTwitter, Facebook and Spotify logos.
I choose locations of photoshoots around the
different topics I was covering, for examples the
two photos that can be found on the contents
page.
Also to make sure to focus in onto the targeted
audience I used appropriate clothing on my
models.
6. Further in my Double page Spread I used a Q &
A style of interview into the article titled
“Looking Back AtYesterday”.To enhance the
feelings being portrayed in the article I had to
take photos that would reflect this. I ended in
choosing a photo where Alex is looking back
over his shoulder. I feel this is quite symbolic as
he is “Looking Back”.
7. To ensure that I was on the right track with this
design and style I went back to the people who I
gave the original questionnaires to and whilst
showing them the magazine I asked them
“would you purchase this magazine”
The Results were 90%Yes and 10% No.
This shows I was successful when I created my
magazine.
