3. These are the coverlines and colour palette I
decided to use which relate to my genre as pop
music magazines use bright colours. The colours
pink and purple connote feminism and youth
which is appropriate for my target audience.
From looking at my research it gave me an idea
of the types of coverlines I can use. The ones I
have used on my magazine appear to be
appropriate to my target audience and include
quotes, the artists name and a short and snappy
word to describe the article overall. I found this
was typical in pop music magazines.
My research also helped me decide where my
coverlines, issue number, barcode, date and
posters should be placed.
4. I then changed the layout of my pop
music magazine as I needed to ensure
that my central image would be able to be
soon as well as making it look more like a
pop music magazine so I moved the
coverlines around however leaving the
splash in the same place as I added more
images it was easier to sort out my layout
to appeal to be target audience.
5. I added black borders around
my coverlines as I noticed
this was typical on pop music
magazines and changed the
shape of the ‘SEE THE UK
TOP 40 SONGS ON PAGE 12’
so that the central image
could be seen clearly. I
ensured that the masthead
was modern and fun to
appeal to my target
audience. I used bold fonts
to catch the readers
attention. The images are
also fun and include the
artists smiling as I found this
from my research.
