Aggression can be normal, and is only an
indicator of underlying disease when
feelings become excessive, all-consuming
and interfere with daily living.
PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
A type of behavior that intents to
benefit other people or society as a
whole.
Helping, sharing, donating, co-operating, and

7. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN
AGGRESSION AND PRO-SOCIAL
BEHAVIOUR
❑ Children who engage in aggressive
behavior may subsequently not perceive
pro-social behaviors as response options or
they may not evaluate them as strategies that
are associated with internal or external
gratifications.
❑ Aggressive behavior and pro-social
behavior, have been identified as crucial in
children’s social development.
❑ Findings say increasing pro-social behavior
decreases aggression but proper
management of aggression is necessary
rather than just shutting down the aggressive
feelings.
