3. INTRODUCTION
• Witricity is known as wireless electricity. Wireless
electric power delivered over room scale distance with
high efficiency
• The major source of conventional form of electricity is
through wires The continuous research and development
has brought forward a major breakthrough, which
provides electricity without the medium of wires.
• Today, as we can see the word ‘wireless’ is common in
day – to – day life. Wireless communication has made the
world smaller.

4. • WiTricity is nothing but wireless electricity.
• Transmission of electrical energy from one object to
another without the use of wires is called as WiTricity.
• WiTricity will ensure that the cell phones, laptops, and
other power hungry devices get charged on their own,
eliminating the need of plugging them in.
• Because of WiTricity some of the devices won't require
batteries to operate.

• In 1891, Sir Nikola Tesla
Proposed a method of
WirelessPower
Transmission.
• As it is in Radiative mode, most
of the Power was wasted and
has less efficiency.
• The efficient midrange
power transfer concept is
Witricity. In this model
source and load are in
Magnetic resonance so there
is no power loss.

6. Basic Principle:
• Based on strong coupling between electromagnetic resonant
objects also called “Resonant Magnetic Coupling”
• Transmitter and receiver coils oscillate or “resonate” at the
same “frequency”.
• Resonant frequency is the natural frequency of an object.

Step 1
A circuit [A] attached to the wall socket converts the DC
current to 2 megahertz and feeds it to the transmitting coil
[B].
The oscillating current inside the transmitting coil causes
the coil to emit a 2 -megahertz magnetic field

The receiving coil [C] is designed to resonate at the same
frequency
 Magnetic induction takes place.
Receiving coil picks up the energy of the first coil's
magnetic field.

Limitations:
☼ The resonance condition should be satisfied and if any error
exists, there is no possibility of power transfer.

• The team’s next aim is to get a robotic vacuum or a laptop
working,charging devices placed anywhere in the room and
even robots on factory floors.
• In another three to five years time,they will come up with
a witricity system for commercial use.

18. CONCLUSION
The transmission of power without wires is not a theory . It
is now a reality. The electrical energy can be economically
transmitted without wires to any terrestrial distance. Many
researchers have established in numerous observations,
experiments and measurements, qualitative and
quantitative.Dr Nekola Tesla is the pioneer of this invention.
