• Real name was Khalid bin Walid bin al Mughirah bin Abdullah bin Umar bin
Makhzum bin Yaqzah bin Marrah al-Mahzumi
• He was born in 585 in Makkah
• His father was Walid ibn al-Mughirah
• Mother’s name was Lubabah al- Sughra
• He was from the Meccan tribe of Quraysh

5. Early life
• As a member of the Makhzum clan, who were amongst the best horsemen
in Arabia, Khalid learned to ride and use such weapons as the spear,
the lance, the bow and the sword. The lance was said to be his favorite
among the weapons. In youth he was admired as a renowned warrior and
wrestler among the Quraysh.
• During his teenage years, he was already been assigned to lead the cavalry. He
showed his efficiency when leading the cavalry in the Uhud battle. His split
second decision to charge when the Uhud archers disobeyed The Prophet’s
orders, he managed to defeat the Muslim army.
6. Conversion to islam
• Khalid (RA) did not participate in the Battle of Badr
• He arrived at Medina on 31 May 629
• Accept Islam
7. Sword of Allah
• Battle of Mu’tah Between the Muslims And the Romans.
• He Broke Nine Swords in This Battle
• Back in Madinah, people started to accuse Khalid (r.a.) of fleeing the battle
• The Prophet (s.a.w) gave Khalid bin Waleed (r.a.) the title of Saifullah – The
Sword of Allah

• Conquered almost all of the Middle East.
• Khalid wasn’t eager to war or bloodthirsty. He didn’t invoked to the sword except for necessary only.
• He fought over 115 (50 victorious) battles and remained undefeated.
• Uses his charisma to make his people do extraordinary effort ,that’s why Khalid always won his battles
• He was a champion wrestler and he loved wrestling

• He didn’t fight any one until he send him a messenger asking for surrendering.
• Didn’t kill any prisoners or do any harm to them.

• Died and was buried in 642 in emesa ( homs)
• His tomb is now part of a mosque called khalid ibn al-walid mosque
• He had wanted to die as a martyr in the field of battle.
