Topic:Optimization of e-business service
3. What is optimaization of e-business services
• Optimization suggests a rigorous,
ongoing approach to improving the
effectiveness and efficiency of e-
business services. When we
reviewed goals for effectiveness
and efficiency .
• we explained the importance of
defining both type of goals.
1. Service effectiveness.
2. Service efficiency.
4. • Service effectiveness : The level of
satisfaction attained by providing a service
to a customer. The service meeting business
goal. Are new technology approaches or
information available that could improve the
experience.
• Service efficiency :The cost incurred by
providing a service to a customer.
Effectiveness without efficiency will
threaten profit margins, cash flow, and other
financial metrics.
5. Alternatives for acquiring e-business systeams
• The basic alternative acquisition methods for e-business systems are similar
to those for traditional business information systems.

Bespoke development. With a bespoke development, the
application is developed from ‘scratch’ through programming of a solution by
an in-house or external development team or systems integrator.
packaged implementation :a standard existing system is
purchased from a solution vendor and installed
on servers and clients located within the
organization.
6. • Hosted solution: With a hosted solution, a standard system is used, but it is
not managed within the company.
• Tailored development. In a tailored development, an off-the-shelf system or
SaaS solution is tailored according to the organization’s needs.
8. Developmentofweb-basedcontentandservices:
Web-based content and services development is about building
and maintaining online platforms like websites and web
applications. For instance, a web developer might use HTML,
CSS, and JavaScript to create an enhanced website for users.
9. Webaccessibility
• Web accessibility refers to the practice of designing and
developing websites and web applications in a way that
ensures people with disabilities can perceive, interact with,
and access the content effectively. The goal of web accessibility
is to make the web inclusive and usable for all individuals.
10. StaticWebContent
• Static web content means unchanging web pages. They
look the same for all users and don't adapt to their
actions. It's made with HTML and CSS, and it loads fast.
• Example; programming website python.
11. DynamicWebContent
• Dynamic web content changes based on user
interactions and real-time data. It uses server-side
processing and databases.
• Examples: personalized e-commerce recommendations,
social media, and real-time updates.
12. A standard programming Framework based on reusable library
functions for creating dynamic websites through a programming
language
A web application server is like a middleman between your web
application and the internet.
It makes sure your website works smoothly.

14. Content Management System (CMS)
• Defination:
• A software tool for creating, editing and updating documents
accessed by intranet, extranet or Internet.
• Enterprise CMSs can be used for laerge, complex sights(and
other corporate document) as well as the standard page
creation and editing facilities offer version cont nrol and review
of documents through workflow system which notify reviewer
when new documents are ready for editing.
15. Criteria for selecting a content management system :
• A Professional content management should provide these
facilities these are state below:
• 1: Easy authority system.
• 2: Search engine robot crawling.
• 3:Different page template.
• 4:Input and syndication.
• 5.Security and Access control etc.
16. The main open source CMSs are state below:
• 1:plone(www.plone org.)
• 2:Drupal.(www.drupal.org)
• 3:mambo.(www.mamboserver.com)
• 4:megento.(www.mambiserver.com)
• Example of Commercial CMSs :
• 1:Interwoven(www.interoven.com)
• 2:Red Dot(www.reddot.com)
• 3:Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server(www.microsoft. Com
• Blogging System :
• 1:Blogger(www.blogger.com)
• 2:Movable(www.movabletype.com)
• 3:WordPress(www.wordpress.org)
17. Testing :
• Definition
• Aims to identify non-conformance in the requirements
specification and error
• Objectives:
• Testing has two objective
• 1: to check for non conformance with the business and user
requirment
• 2:Identify bugs or errors.
18. The testing process:
• A structured testing process is necessary in order to identify and solve as many
problems as possible before the system is released to users. This testing is
conducted in a structured way by using a test specification which is a comprehensive
specification of testing in all modules of the system.
• Some types are testing are state below:
1.Developer tests.
2:Feasibility testing.
3:Module (component) tests.
4:Integration testing.
5:System testing.
6:Database transaction taken.
7:Performance/capacity testing.
8. Usability and accessibility testing.
23. Testing environment
• Test Environment. A test environment is where the testing
teams analyze the quality of the application/program.
• For example, a test environment that uses Firefox,
Windows XP, and WAS.
24. Changeover
Method Main advantages Main disadvantages
1. Immediate cutover Rapid , lowest cost High risk ,major disruption if
serious errors with system.
2. Parallel running Lower risk than immediate cutover Slower and higher cost than
immediate cutover.
3. Phased implementation good compromise between
methods 1and 2
Difficult to achieve technically due
to interdependences between
modules .
4. Pilot system Essential for multinational or nation
rollouts
has to be use in testing may
impact large numbers of use.
25. Database Creation And Migration
• Database migration is the process of migrating data from
one or more source databases to one or more target
databases by using a database migration service.
• The following diagram illustrates illustrat this database
migration process;

27. Deployment Planning
• Deployment planning is the process of determining how and
when a software application or system will be deployed into a
production environment. It involves ...
32. CONTENT MANAGEMENT AND
MAINTENANCE:
Content management is an application
that is used to manage content,
allowing multiple contributors to create,
edit and publish.

33. MANAGEMENT ISSUES INVOLVED WITH
MAINTENANCE
Frequency and scope of content updating.
An e-commerce site to decide on the timing of the action required
according to the type of problem in efficient way
Maintenance of the site and responsibilities for update:
• Process for routine content changes: routine content changes should be
communicated to all staff providing content to the site, with responsibilities.
The main stages involved in producing an updated web page are to design
it, write it, test it and publish it.
34. Process for major changes: For major changes to a web site, such as
changing the menu structure, adding a new section of content or changing the
services for users, a different process is required. Such changes will involve a
larger investment and there will be limited funds for investment, so priorities
for these major changes must be agreed
Initiatives to keep content fresh: Fresh content will not happen by accident, so
companies have to consider approaches that can be used to control the quality of
documents and in particular to keep them up-to-date and relevant.
Managing content for a global site: content will need to be developed locally for
regional audiences and this may require variations from central guidelines. Some
regional autonomy needs to be allowed to enable buy-in from the different regions.
37. Web analytics: measuring and improving
performance of e business services
Web analytics is the customer centered evolution of the effectiveness of
internet based marketing in order to improve the business contributing in
order to improve the business contribution of online channels to an
organization.
Principles of performance management and
improvement :
The processes and systems intend to monitor and improve the performance
of an organization and specific management activities such as Internet
marketing known as performance management systems.
