I have had an interestinfilmsince Ifirststartedschool.Iwantto do a filmrelatedcourse at
university soIcan expandmyknowledgeof filmand theirproductioncontextswiththe targetof
workingwithinthe industry.
At secondaryschool Istudied ArtandMedia whichgave me an interestinstudying creativesubjects
at a higherlevel.At YorkCollege Iexpandedmyacademicknowledge studying ASLevelsinFilm
Studies, MediaStudies,LawandReligious Studies.InFilmStudiesI studied ClassicandNew
HollywoodandAmericanIndependent, EuropeanandBritishcinema.FormyfilmcourseworkImade
a short filmthatI scripted,shotandedited.InMediaStudies Istudiedthe theories of StuartHall and

Aftercompletingmy ASyear,IdecidedIwantedtofocuson my passionof studying media-based
productionandenrolledtoanExtendedDiplomainCreative MediaProductionandTechnology.
Duringmy firstyearI producedshortfilms(musicvideo,narrative andfactual),animationforavideo
game conceptand graphic designproductions. Thiscourse haspreparedme foruniversityasithas
taught me howto workindependently aswell ascollaborativelyon avarietyof projects.Ihave
learnedorganisational skillsand developedmy abilitytocommunicate ideasinmyfinal outcomes.It
has taughtme a range of different production skillssuchasthe Adobe Creative Suite,use of Canon
DSLRs and othersoftware andhardware formediaproductions.I wantto study these skills further
and explore alternative methodsof production toexpressmycreativityindifferentforms. Inmy
secondyear, I am currentlymakingafactual projecton women ingamingandthe prejudicesthey
face as well as writingan essay exploringthe male gaze inthe Transformers franchise.
In the future I wantto go intofilmmaking withfictionfilmsordocumentary.Ihave a particular
interestinproductionmethodsincluding editingandcamerawork.Universitywill helpme achieve
givingme more specialist skillsandknowledge andan in-deptheducationintowhatIam passionate
aboutand alreadystudying.The filmindustryisalwayschangingand adapting, anditisa highly
