careers, enhance their
education, and build their
networks.

6. Coaches are not Therapists
 Therapy involves
talking about your
past and
understanding why
certain actions
were taken.
 Coaches focus on
the present and
future.

7. Not Family or Friends
 Coaches have no investment in
the outcome.
 There is no preconceived idea
of what the client “should” or
“should not” do.
 There is no hidden agenda.
 Family or friends may be afraid
for you to changes. Your coach
will encourage change.
