I have been in the sales and/or healthcare arena now for over 25
years. I started my career selling health insurance and then found and
entered the profession which fed my soul - nursing homes (skilled
nursing & rehab) in 1992. I started as an Admissions Coordinator &
over an 18 year span worked my way through sales & operations
positions at the region & corporate levels, including Chief Operating
Officer. I have been responsible for as small an operation as $2
million (1 facility) to as large as $650 million (98 facilities).
This success is mainly due to my collaborative & influential
leadership style which enables me to build extraordinary teams and
deliver results. I take full profit accountability for my operations by
focusing in four main areas:
 Talent acquisition, development & management;
 Providing a quality service by delivering the utmost
in customer satisfaction, embracing systems, polices
& procedures & exceeding regulatory compliance;
 Developing sustainable business development &
profitable revenue enhancement models and,
 Managing the day-to-day business without allowing
it to manage me.
I embrace being "different", stepping outside my circle of comfort
& brining others along with me. I thrive on change. I believe my
greatest talent is the presence & approach I have. People are drawn to
that presence and approach and I have a natural ability to inspire them
to want to excel & do well. I create a true, meaningful sense of team,
being a part of something extraordinary & thereby creating a spirit and
culture where the team wants to succeed...and they do.
I truly believe, it's all about your team. Hire enough of the right
people, pay them equitably, take really good care of them, make them
feel a part of the team, appreciate them by holding them accountable
& rewarding where appropriate & everything else usually falls into
place. This drives me and hence, I have developed six (6) "Driving
Principles":
1.) Build the Team & Motivate Them. The right team
makes all the difference in the world. Don't hold on to
non-performers too long. Understand "potential".
Develop the team so they are motivated and loyal and

would jump into a fox hole with you and your success will be sustainable;
2.) Set expectations & hold the Team accountable. Set expectations high,
check what you imagine and respect what you expect. Always embrace
change, stepping outside your circle of comfort and bring the group along
with you. Take calculated risks with your Team.
3.) Use a fair and consistent management style. Be fair, firm and consistent
but be gentle and respectful at all times in your approach. "Walk loudly and
don't carry a stick" vs. "walking softly & carrying a big stick". Its fine to get
angry & show emotion, just appropriately so and at the right time(s).
4.) Assume good intentions. Always assume the best of your team. If they
respect you and are loyal to you and the Company, they will always be trying
to perform at their best and pleasing, not intentionally displeasing.
5.) Run the day-to-day without it getting in your way. Be sure to take time to
be strategic.
6.) Run it like you own it. If you would do something differently, make a
different decision, execute a different strategy, etc., if you actually owned the
business and your bank account was on the line, than do it differently! Don't
take the easy way out just because your buck isn't on the line.
Some of the specific talents I possess which are a by-product of the above driving forces are:
 Long & Short Range Strategic Planning & Execution. In developing short and long range
strategic plans by creating a vision for the future state of the organization, determining
current state, developing tactics to bridge those two situations, successfully executing on that
strategy through consistent follow up, holding stakeholders accountable and utilizing
standardized procedures and systems, I can produce a more effective and efficient operation
which generates consistent and predictable results regardless of individual business unit or
departmental challenges/differences;
 Leadership Talent Development and Management. I consistently acquire, develop and
motivate high performing teams. My "influential and collaborative" management style
influences those around me and motivates and encourages them to exceed their own
expectations leading ultimately to exceeding the organization's goals each year;
 Organizational Culture Development. With my personal, hands on approach, I consistently
have constructed a culture of accountability for performance to deliver expected operational
results by honoring and respecting employees throughout the organization and thereby
creating an amazing "employee experience";
 Profitability & Effective Use of Organization Resources. Every organization has a bottom
line. Recognizing that I have successfully improved productivity and profitability each time
I've led a business unit by (1) focusing on talent management and development; (2)
enhancing and then delivering quality outcomes and therefore client satisfaction; (3) business
development systems implementation to grow the business and (4) managing expenses and
the overall day to day operations;
 Enhancing Product/Service Quality. Through market research and customer satisfaction
assessments, I identify unmet needs whether for products, services or lack of satisfaction and
with the team, develop the product or customer service training to enhance product offerings
as well as improve overall service quality.
I am looking for a growing, forward thinking organization that wants to be even more
successful by accessing the value and transferrable skills and talents I have to offer. I want to
find a partner employer that appreciates that value and will allow me to make a difference in as
many people's lives as possible whether its your employees or customers.
Dare to "stray the course", be different, be bold. Embrace change and engage with me. I will
show you how you can have fun in the workplace at the same time deliver results which exceed
your expectations.
