The late great Charles as known by his family and colleges in his time was a very successful business entrepreneur, a loyal husband and a dutiful son.
He joined his fathers business in the 40’s, right after The Great Depression had taken its toll on England's economy. Over the year's Charles had become a puppet to his family's and then his wife's wishes. He slowly became oppressed as due to suppressing his emotions.
Year's went by, with all the milestone's one has in their life.
On the day of his last breath Charles wrote a letter to himself, coxing himself for all that he gave up and lost, due to him playing the role of a 'dutiful son, husband and father'.
In the hope of one day someone may be in his unfortunate shoes, he left the letter he wrote in one of the books in his study's book shelf. As to help those in need who have lost their path in life and not to be swayed by anyone else's plans for them. Not only did the letter contained the words of a sorrowful man but also a promise to one's self as to not let people decide your fate but to be the author of your own story.
1. How does your product engage with audiences and
how would it be distributed as a real media text?
CREATIVE CRITICAL
REFLECTION
2. Marketing Tactics
The marketing tactics I would use;
• Uploading trailers are another way of marketing. The most ideal route I've adopted is
to make a Youtube channel and utilise the Youtube connect on all your other web-
based social networking stages.
• By passing out handouts, fly posting and sprucing up in ensembles, to create
awareness.
• Promoting my film through my own contacts. By utilising Instagram, Facebook and
Snapchat, the films pamphlets were advertised on a large scale.
• Vine videos - the 6 second movie clips generated by the vine app on Twitter are a
really cheap and fun way to make sparkling and viral content for my film, as its
relatable and is an innovative way of marketing the film.
• By creating a website for my film, to make the viewers feel more involved in the
production process of the movie. By posting behind the scene videos and pictures as
per to give an in-depth experience of the process of filming and project the
environment on set.
• By publishing an article in the school and local newspapers and magazines, to carter
to a wider demographic.
3. Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is a youthful American lady who
works for The New Yorker as a reality checker. She goes on a
pre-special first night with her culinary expert life partner Victor
(Gael García Bernal) to Verona, Italy. Victor is unaffected by the
sentiment of Italy and his opportunity to research his soon-to-
open eatery, frequently disregarding Sophie. Sophie
unintentionally finds an unanswered "letter to Juliet" by a Claire
Smith from 1957, one of a great many messages left at the
anecdotal mate's Verona patio that are regularly replied by the
"Secretaries of Juliet". She answers it and inside seven days the
now elderly Claire Smith (Vanessa Redgrave) touches base in
Verona with her great looking advocate grandson Charlie
Wyman (Christopher Egan). Claire and Sophie take a moment
getting a kick out of the chance to each other, however Charlie
and Sophie don't get along.
Taking after the exhortation in Sophie's answer, Claire chooses
to search for her departed love, Lorenzo Bartolini (Franco Nero).
Sophie, deduction Claire's story may help her with her
composition vocation, helps Claire. The two discover that there
are numerous Lorenzo Bartolini’s living in the range. After
numerous days of hunting down the privilege Lorenzo, they find
that one is dead. Charlie points the finger at Sophie for his
grandma's bitterness. He blames her for not realising what
genuine misfortune is. Claire, seeing the question, reveals to
Charlie he wasn't right and that Sophie's mom had left her when
she was a young lady. The next day, Claire demands that
Charlie apologise to Sophie at breakfast, which he does. After
supper, Sophie converses with Charlie about adoration, and the
two kiss. The next morning is their last day of scanning for
Lorenzo. Spontaneously, Claire indicates out a vineyard Charlie
and inquires as to whether he could stop so they can have a
goodbye drink for Sophie. As Charlie drives not far off, Claire
sees a young fellow who looks precisely like her Lorenzo. They
find the man is Lorenzo Bartolini's grandson, and Claire and
Lorenzo rejoin.
Back in New York, Sophie parts ways with Victor before coming
back to Verona to go to Claire and Lorenzo's wedding. She
discovers Charlie with another lady, Patricia, and runs out crying.
Charlie turns out to discover her, and she concedes she adores
him however instructs him to backpedal to Patricia. Charlie
uncovers that Patricia is his cousin and reveals to Sophie he
cherishes her. He scales the vine to the overhang, reproducing
4. ‘’CHOICES’’
The theme of both the films are a based on a world wind of emotions
and family struggles, on finding new adventures, making mistakes
and then learning from them. Their both an on going depiction of
society and culture.
Although with two every different plots, ‘’CHOICES’’ differs as a
means to an opposed existence of a Grandfather on his death bed,
by saving his last words of wisdom for the future generation, to not be
held down by the talons of ones personified future, but to follow ones
heart.
Similar to ‘’Letter to Juliet’’ where the young in love Sophie (Amanda
Seyfried), finds herself at a cross road to go after true love or love
which is similar but lacks the passion, her heart desires.
5. HOW MY INSTITUTION CAN DISTRIBUTE
MY FILM
• Want to make it available online, to grasp a younger demographic.
• For example Netflix, Hulu and Youtube
• Then the theatres for movie goers who visit the cinema as an outing.
•In my county i would prefer not to sell Blu Rays as, the level of pricey is very high, thus
cutting down on my profits.
7. MOVIES SIMILAR TO MY FILM BASED ON MY INSTITUTION
The following movies are similar to my movie as each one of them highlight family struggles in their own,
mythical, imaginary and realistic everyday household way.
Bedtime stories has a similar sense of disguising the problems at hand with fantasy.
to put aside the problems we have. similar to my movie in which the lead just lets his life play out with it
‘’picture perfect story tale depiction’’, until he finally reads his Grandfathers letter.
The Game Plan is another out look on a broken family and how the due to what the world seems fit and
how to keep ones image intact. Where the lead Dwayne Johnson isn't aware about his daughter until she
shows up on his door step one day. Similar to my film as due to reputation The Grandfather is forced to
succumb to his parents wishes, thus making his family much more broken then he led on. In perspective to
dans child, (Peyton Kelly) Madison Pettis is used as a metaphor for a life not taken. By both Dwayne’s role
of fatherhood was taken and in my films case the Grandson with the aspect of of a life without expectations
and exploring the road not taken for the better or worse.
Narnia a 2005 Walt Disney Film is a drama, fantasy film. I took inspiration from this to use the drama genre
and although there are alot of family problems and sibling rivalry discussed throughout the film what
attracted me more to this film was the brilliant editing done, the way the shots were captured and put
together, as well as the perfectly synced sound and music that brought the movie to life on screen and
captured the true essence of the drama genre by the build-up created through the editing and suspenseful
music/sounds.
8. HOW CAN MY AUDIENCE RELATE TO MY
FILM
My audience can relate to my film, by the circumstances
that lie in every household, from the high expectations to
the rules and regulations, which are said to ‘’bring us up
on the straight path’’. But the main idea in my short two
minute scene is a subtle way of grading every individuals
heart strings, by bringing them back to the underlining
problems and the suppressed emotions we all go through.
Whether it be affairs or the heart, the cooperate world or
the every high standards of how our family wants us to
turn out.
