The Boston Red Sox partnered with Waste Management's Total Recycling Program in 2013 to help Fenway Park pursue sustainability goals and reduce waste sent to landfills. Through initiatives like composting food waste and expanding recycling, waste was reduced by 37 tons and recycling increased by 41 tons in 2015. As a result of the partnership, 398 tons of material were diverted from landfills, helping the Red Sox win a recycling award.
