July 2015 - December 2016 – The Belize Tourism Board,
#64 Regent Street, Belize City
Sustainable Tourism Specialist: Conducted research,
developed training related to sustainable (and best)
practices for hoteliers, tour operators, tour guides and other
key destination stakeholders while ensuring that relevant
training relates to the standards that were being developed
and the conservation aspect of Quality Assurance & Industry
Standards. Additionally, the Sustainable Tourism Specialist
liaised with industry partners to address impacts in regards
to climate change, and other pressing conservation matters
from a regional and international standpoint. Developed
a Best Practices Manuals for Small hotels and carried out
a Best Practices for Guides and Boat Captains Workshop,
Contingency Planning; among other similar trainings and
workshops in Belize City, Placencia Village, Dangriga
Town, Caye Caulker and San Pedro. Contributes input on
sustainable practices from a tourism perspective as a
member of the National Birds Working Group, Manatee
Working Group, National Watersheds Taskforce, Energy
Efficiency Working Group, etc. Aided in the development and
implementation of a National Wildlife Awareness Strategy;
updating of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action
Plan, formation of the National Watersheds Task Force and
other similar initiatives.

information to arriving guests at the Cayo Welcome Center

November 2012 - March 2013 – Mariposa Jungle Lodge,
San Antonio Village, Cayo
Office Manager: Helped manage lodge office and was in-
charge of supplies, management, staff scheduling, tour
scheduling, worked as a concierge when lodge manager
was off duty. Assisted with sales/reservations when Sales/
Marketing Manager was away and assisted with other lodge
tasks as needed.
February 2012 - November 2012 – Table Rock Jungle
Lodge, Mile 5 Cristo Rey Road, Cayo
Guest Services Manager/Bartender: Worked with
owners to improve general practices and implement new
procedures and ideas. Worked in conjunction with owners
on overall office responsibilities which included reservations,
guest services (front-desk, concierge), petty cash control,
gift shop sales and inventory and office and kitchen staff
scheduling and supervision. Created, designed, updated
and improved personalized welcome notes for incoming
guests, sales manual, booking terms and conditions, guest
information booklets for rooms and created (excel) package
breakdowns for all packages. Worked with house-keeping
staff to improve and introduce in-expensive and unique
ideas for honeymooners, and others on special occasions.
Was resident manager when owners were out for off-time
