Proper Bathing
1. Start your bath by wetting
yourself thoroughly.
2. Use a mild shampoo to
wash your hair. Gently rub
your scalp as you apply
shampoo. Just be careful not
to get the shampoo into your
eyes.
3. After a few minutes, rinse
the shampoo off your hair.
4. Apply mild soap to a
washcloth then use this to
clean your face, neck, and
the back of your ears.
5. Continue soaping the rest of your body.
Make sure to wash even those parts that
are not easy to reach.
6. Use the washcloth, rub
gently at hose body parts
that tend to smell when you
perspire. These include your
armpits, neck, back and
between your toes.
7. Rinse thoroughly with water.
Proper Washing of Hands
Many sicknesses can be prevented by proper washing
of the hands. Wash them with soap and water. Make
sure you wash your hands-
• Before and after eating;
• Each time they get dirty;
Sing the song “Happy Birthday to You” two times
while you wash your hands.
Follow these simple steps in hand washing.
1. Wet your hands.
2. Rub your hands with soap.
3.Scrub your hands as you sing “Happy
Birthday to You” two times. Do not forget to
wash the top of each hand and between your
fingers. Also clean the area under your nails.
4. Rinse your hands thoroughly.
5. Turn off the faucet.
5. Dry your hands with a clean towel.
Proper Washing of Feet
Make sure you wash your feet-
• Each time they get dirty;
• Before you go to bed; and
• After wading in or passing through
flooded areas.
Follow this steps in washing your feet.
1. Wet your feet and lather them thoroughly.
2. Scrub your feet with a washcloth. Rub every
part of your feet especially the areas between
toes. Clean your toenails with a nailbrush.
