2. New Women Space is a communal event
space and project platform that places
women of all experiences at its center.
WHAT IS NWS?
3. We believe the needs of women living, working and creating in
New York City are constantly changing and so are the many
ways in which those needs are being met.
WHY NWS?
New Women Space serves to function as a physical place where
women can collectively gather and shape the future together.
A growing abundance of women-centered missions,
organizations, brands, groups and followings have come to rise
in response to these changing needs, yet space continues to be
an obstacle and barrier for these communities to truly thrive.
4. To shape and influence a new generation of
women-led business owners, community
organizers, artists and thought leaders.
OUR VISION
5. To hold space for cultivating our city’s women-
led initiatives and to support the needs of her
personal and professional pursuits.

DESIGN4
We believe practicing radical
transparency around our
operations and intentions is the
key to nurturing a strong and
sustainable community.
Our space is nothing without the
people who occupy it. We believe in
testing, learning and building —
constantly working alongside others
to improve our current systems.
The purpose of New Women
Space is to accurately reflect
the diversity and beauty of
difference that characterizes
the women in our city.
Our intention is to create a space
wholly designed for women. We
believe conscious design is about
making thoughtful, meaningful
considerations towards facilitating
positive change.
7. Introduce new opportunities for local
engagement and relationship-based
activities through high quality, participatory
events, workshops and community classes.

15. MELISSA WONG SANDRA HONG
Melissa created Up Speak - a goal setting
workshop series for women - as an alternative to
one-off career and networking events. She has
worked for an array of hospitality businesses, and
has supported creative communities like
Kickstarter and SoundCloud. She also advocates
life away from the screen, bolstered by her yoga
practice and teaching.
Sandra created GIRL PARTY in response to the
lack of social spaces designed by and for women
in her borough of Brooklyn, New York. She has
worked in the realms of digital advertising,
marketing and content strategy for over ten
years and continues to consult for small business
and hospitality brands through creative direction,
content strategy and event production.
