2. About Us- Today's unthinkable is tomorrow's reality
‘Unthinkable’ is a Nonprofit organization that was founded by and remains under the
direction of R. Rice, Jr. in February 2014. The organization was ‘born’ from the
‘experience’ of its founder when providing services for a client through a local
Rehabilitative/Caregiving firm. During his tenure he found that often the desires,
talents, dreams and passion of those that have developmental challenges remain
overlooked. The ‘inability’ to express and articulate ones interest leads to ‘lives never
lived’.
In his quest to advocate for those that were often ‘ignored’ and ‘overlooked’, it was
found that many of the gifts, talents and inventions that we enjoy today were wrought
from the mind of those that are developmentally challenged.
The children and young adults that we often discount have dreams, goals, talents and
abilities. They deserve an opportunity to do the UNTHINKABLE.
There are also individuals, firms, organizations and companies that aspire to make a
difference and to make the UNTHINKABLE a reality.*Unthinkable- (Noun)

While dreams are often deferred or limited by physical,
mental or socio-economic roadblocks, the vision of the
UNTHINKABLE team is to bridge the gap of inopportunity by
providing both intangible and Human resources to mentor,
equip and train its participants with life skills, talent
motivation and step plans necessary to succeed in realizing
their vocational, economic and rehabilitative dreams and
goals

4. Our Goals- Today's unthinkable is tomorrow's reality
o To establish relationships with community leaders, business owners,
business entities and various business industry providers to:
o Volunteer their time for mentorship, instruction and training
o Donate vocational resources/ meeting space for ‘classroom’ instruction,
mentoring and training.
o Provide employment opportunities for participants that meet the
standards and requirements necessary to fill low to moderate skill level
positions within various industry
oTo leverage our community relationships to further promote the legislative
rights of disabled, handicapped and economically rehabilitated participants.
oTo provide a positive growth oriented environment which lends to the growth
and development of all participants.

6. Identifying Program Participants
The ’UNTHINKABLE’ team actively seeks participants by partnering with
institutions, organizations and agencies which include , but are not limited to:
• Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies
• Metropolitan Rehabilitative Institutions of Learning
• Local School Systems
• The Department of Social Services
• National/ Local Autism organizations
• Developmental Resource Agencies
• Special Needs Organizations

7. Identifying Sponsors/Volunteers
The ‘UNTHINKABLE’ team actively seeks volunteers and sponsors through
partnership opportunities. We look for various industry representatives to
voluntarily participate in Annual and Seasonal events hosted to introduce our
participants. We look to partner with :
• State and Local Grounds Management Divisions
• NCDOT
• Area certified professional organizations to include:
• Barbers/ Stylist
• Brick Masons
• Landscaping Professionals
• Real Estate Professionals
• Public and Private Universities
• Public and Private Healthcare Facilities and Hospitals

8. Sponsorship Opportunities
The UNTHINKABLE team offers many opportunities for sponsorship and
participation. We believe that it is essential that our sponsors and volunteers have
the opportunity to meet and engage regularly. Our participants want to know that
you CARE. Both you and/or your organization or firm are welcome to participate in
any of the following events. The proceeds which exceed the event costs will go
directly to the housing and support of participants with immediate needs. The
UNTHINKABLE events include:
