I was asked to present on my leadership style by Human Sparks in Perth, Australia. Use these three ways to foster, identify and grow value.

2. Fostering Value
• Create a nurturing cultural environment of
collaboration where everyone has a voice
• Challenge the norms
• Engage by communicating informally at every
layer and break down silos

3. Identifying Value
• What does business as usual look like?
• How are we going to grow the business?
• What projects will help the business?
• How will we evaluate the merits of each proposal?
• What is the plan?
• Understand the why.
Understand the current status of the organisation.

4. Growing Value
• Build in processes, techniques and culture to support a
lean start-up environment.
• Do as little as possible to get an improvement to your
customer, be it internal, or external.
• Measure the feedback.
• Put in failure criteria.
• Make fast-fail a positive thing.
• Take risks, but limit them.
• Put your customer first.
