The flag highlights the colours of
the two main physical features -
land and the ocean. The boat
signifies trade while the sun
denotes life and the torch ginger
as the national flower.
The torch ginger flower, the national
flower of Ciaz Island, is widely grown
here. Its used as a flavour enhancer,
food preservatives, as a medicine for
wounds and earaches and a body
odour remover. Hence it is of great
importance to the natives.

Ciaz Island follows the monarchy system of
government. A group of people are head
of the state. A king is the head of the
group. Title is handed down through
bloodlines. If the king dies or steps down
from the throne, it’s passed down to his
oldest child. However, in the event there
isn’t a child, it might go to a brother or
cousin. The headdress signifies the position
held by the person in the monarchy. The
king rules within a set of laws.
6. People of the Ciaz island are mainly tribal
belonging to Chizu clan. They mainly
communicate through sound and beats of
the drum. They worship the sun as they
believe it is the giver of life. During any
celebration like marriages and birth of a
child, they wear decorative masks. They
mainly depend on fishing, farming and
hunting. Their weapons and tools are made
from natural materials. They live in small
units. Women cook in vessels made from
mud and stones.

River Tango in the Northern valley
makes a good place for tourists. Rivers
Tiana and Kona are sources of water in
Southern Ciaz.

mainly found in the
mountainous region of Ciaz
Island. Palm trees and coconut
tress grow in abundance in
central and Southern regions.

WOOD COINS WHICH HAVE DRAWINGS REPRESENTING THE
REGION, OCCUPATION OR NATURAL RESOURCE. THESE ARE
USED INTERNALLY FOR EXCHANGE OF GOODS.
NATIVES OF CIAZ INDULGE IN TRADE. THEY EXCHANGE STONE
BEADS MADE FROM THE COLOURFUL ROCKS AND JEWELRY,
HANDICRAFT, PALM AND COCONUT OIL, MEDICINAL EXTRACT
FROM THE TORCH GINGER FLOWER FOR GRAINS, CLOTH AND
OTHER DAILY USE ITEMS.
