Scorched Earth – Save our Planet
The aim of progressing through the modules is to
slowly clean Mother Earth one step (Module or Part) at
a Time.
The file starts with a ravaged Earth (No water, Fauna or
Flora, Electricity and as the Learner Progresses they will
receive Power-Up tokens).
As the Learner gains Power-Up tokens, Actions can be
unlocked (Water will fill the Ocean, The Wind badge
unlocks a Leaf Blower to blow trash into bags etc.)
On completion of the course the Earth will be restored
to Pristine and bountiful condition, hopefully providing
the Learner not only a sense of accomplishment for
completion, but accomplishment for saving their own
little Cyber Earth.
Course Correlation
Module 1
The Learner will navigate through modules. Inside these modules
will be a more parallel representation of an activity they need to
complete that will be taken from the course document.
For example in Module 1, the learner will learn about the details of
energy and be exposed to the definition, types and uses of energy
in the modern world. They will learn that some appliances require
more energy than others and that we need to try and use energy
sparingly to restore the world.
This will draw the parallels between the coursework and the “game”
to connect the dots between content and course.

Within the SCORM File, user now plays “Mini-
Game” where they can drag & drop their Token
into the Token tray. An animation will follow
where the Earth is cleaned in a small way. This
will happen in each Module. the User cannot
progress until it is completed.

As the Learner gains Tokens, Actions can be unlocked that will affect the Learner’s Cyber Earth (Water will fill the Ocean, The Wind

which means they can be transferred out of the system into the WOW rewards system

  • 3. Scorched Earth – Save our Planet The aim of progressing through the modules is to slowly clean Mother Earth one step (Module or Part) at a Time. The file starts with a ravaged Earth (No water, Fauna or Flora, Electricity and as the Learner Progresses they will receive Power-Up tokens). As the Learner gains Power-Up tokens, Actions can be unlocked (Water will fill the Ocean, The Wind badge unlocks a Leaf Blower to blow trash into bags etc.) On completion of the course the Earth will be restored to Pristine and bountiful condition, hopefully providing the Learner not only a sense of accomplishment for completion, but accomplishment for saving their own little Cyber Earth.
  • 4. Course Correlation Module 1 The Learner will navigate through modules. Inside these modules will be a more parallel representation of an activity they need to complete that will be taken from the course document. For example in Module 1, the learner will learn about the details of energy and be exposed to the definition, types and uses of energy in the modern world. They will learn that some appliances require more energy than others and that we need to try and use energy sparingly to restore the world. This will draw the parallels between the coursework and the “game” to connect the dots between content and course. Module 1: … Unlock Power-Up Token (Will not be unlocked if Module is not completed) Within the SCORM File, user now plays “Mini- Game” where they can drag & drop their Token into the Token tray.   • 7. “Power-Up Tokens” and what they unlock As the Learner gains Tokens, Actions can be unlocked that will affect the Learner’s Cyber Earth (Water will fill the Ocean, The Wind badge unlocks a Leaf Blower to blow trash into bags and so on.) Tokens accumulate using the certificate function on aNewSpring, which means they can be transferred out of the system into the WOW rewards system Wind Token Fertilize the earth to make new topsoil and store carbon Fauna Token Returns Geographically correct animals back to Earth Waste Token Picks up waste left over from previous humans and clean up Earth Humanity Token Humans return back to earth and learn a deeper apperception for what we have and our home Electricity Token Slow the greenhouse effect and get rid of Lava Water Token Fills Rivers and Restores Earths Water cycle Flora Token Brings the Green back to Earth (Vegetation is restored)
