consecutive year I was store manager. Accomplished this through focus on overall operation, sales and

Worked my way up in the company from an hourly associate to department manager, assistant
manager, training manager, co-manager and then to general store manager over 15 years.
General Store Manager of Owatonna store from June 2001 until October 2006. Responsible for
157,000 sq. ft. super center with 300 hourly associates on three shifts. Responsible for overall total
operations, meeting annual budgets, forecasting and planning. In my first year I took the store from

being non-profitable to profitable and increased store sales and profits each consecutive year I was
store manager.
As an Assistant Manager, I was responsible for directing, coordinating and evaluating several
departments and department managers. Coordinated sales and promotional activities. Planned and
assigned work. Rewarded and coached associates as needed. Addressed customer issues and
resolved concerns, providing excellent customer service.
From May 1999 through April 2000 I was a Training Assistant Manager. Responsible for complete
hiring, training and staffing of a new super center in Spencer, IA and Worthington, MN. Overall training
of 600+ associates. Both stores opened 100% complete on computer-based training.
Other positions held within the company included Co-Manager from April 2000 through June 2001,
Support Manager from September 1995 to March 1995 and Department Manager of Toys from April
1994 through September 1995. Started in the company as a Sporting Goods Associates in October
1991 through April 1994.

Engineering in 1994.
