1. Information about the Trade Platform for Central, Latin America & Caribbean in Europe,
TPCALE
Background
Countries of the Central and Latin American & Caribbean region are very interesting for attractive
business opportunities. A large part of their economic potential is still to be discovered.
European business has developed a strong presence in the Central and Latin American region over the
last decades. In return, businesses of the region are about to discover Europe’s advantages as a market
and gateway to other regions in the world (Africa, Asia, etc.). An extensive network between Central and
Latin America and Europe is growing but there is no Platform yet which puts all parties together. In order
to promote and develop prosperous business relationships between the Central and Latin American
region and Europe, we created TPCALE in order to optimize business opportunities.
The Trade Platform for Central, Latin American & Caribbean in Europe, TPCALE, is a private business
organization, headquartered in the Netherlands. Its core business is to promote economic and
educational relations between Central and Latin America & Caribbean and Europe. The platform aims to
have 50 members by 2015 — mainly large, midsize and small companies in a cross-section of industries
in Europe and with interests or business operations in the Central and Latin America region and vice
versa. Also there is already interest from countries outside Europe. The Platform maintains close contact
with Central and Latin American Embassies in the Netherlands and Europe and Dutch Embassies in
Central and Latin America, as well as with chambers of commerce in Central and Latin America and
Europe.

*TPCALE Trade Platform Central, Latin America & Caribbean in Europe is een nieuwe
handelsorganisatie. Het Platform is opgericht om de economische en educatieve relaties tussen
Midden-Amerika, Latijns-Amerika, het Caribisch gebied en Europa te bevorderen. Het is een
gezamenlijk initiatief vanuit Global Energy Now, www.globalenergynow.nl in samenwerking met
mr.
