Iraq: October to November 2014. Catholic Relief Services (CRS). Consultancy and WASH - Shelter
Coordinator to design, plan and implement Shelter and WASH projects for Internal displaced
people (IDPs) in Iraq (Dohuk – Kurdistan) .Preparation of contacts documentation for contracts
Assessment of particular needs in WASH and Shelter. Supervision and monitoring of the

Design includes distribution systems, reservoirs, sources, revenues and sustainability of the
project. Study and recommendations for the treatment of the water of the river polluted by
mining activities
January – April 2001, Nippon Koei-UK Consortium. Consultant, team leader for Piura sewage
system. Revision of designs, technical specifications, drawings and bidding documents for major
programme of the design and construction of a new sewage system of Piura (600,000 inhabitants).
The consultancy also included co-ordination with other foreign and local specialists, and liaison
with local authorities and the client (government ministry).
Cuba: November 1998, Oxfam Canada, Belgium and GB. As an irrigation and water supply expert,
the work was to provide advice to Oxfam family on the proposed construction of large-scale rural
irrigation schemes involving two dams and related canal systems, and an urban water supply
programme in Guantanamo, eastern Cuba as part of one programme approach of the OXFAM
Family.
Iraq –Kurdistan: November 1997 – May 1998, UNICEF. Technical team leader for the urban
programme. Design and implementation of 5 years strategy for the urban areas including the
urban water supply and sewerage projects for all the northern cities of Iraq including Suleymania ,
Erbil and Dohuk . Co-ordination with the Kurdish authorities during implementation of the works.

urban water supply system of Kabul (Logar Project) serving 500,000 inhabitants. Duties included
co-ordinating closely with Kabul local authorities.

manual on the operation and maintenance of a water provision system, for use by local grassroots
Organizations.

Nepal: May – June 2015. Catholic Relief Services (CRS). Consultancy as a Shelter and WASH adviser to help
in the elaboration of the reconstruction phase projects in Gorkha – Nepal. The consultancy included the
proposal for the anti-seismic shelter, in collaboration with the Nepalese Authorities. Coordination with local
authorities, shelter and WASH cluster.
Vanuatu: April - March 2015, CARE international. WASH consultancy to assess the situation caused by the
Cyclone Pam the hit the Archipelago in March 2015. Recommendations for WASH intervention and initial
implementation of the works in the Islands affected.
Iraq: October – December 2014. Catholic Relief Services (CRS). Consultant to design, implement and
supervise Shelter and WASH programmes in Iraq – Dohuk, to respond of the needs of IDPs influx.

Guatemala:
October- - November 2005. Oxfam GB. Consultancy to assess the situation caused by floods and
mudslide in Guatemala. Design and implementation of the emergency response programme
including the design of water schemes projects for 32 communities and towns. Construction of
water and sanitation services for one IDPs camp. Preparation and implementation of irrigation
projects to help with the recovery of income generation for farmers affected by the flooding.

December 2000, UNHCR. Consultancy for the design and construction of permanent and
temporary refugee camps for up to 10,000 people affected by the civil war in Colombia. Technical
component included design and implementation of water and sanitation facilities; transitory and
permanent shelter; water and sanitation works for the host towns and communities; kits for rapid
intervention. Responsibilities also included co-ordination with local and national authorities and

in the use of cost-effective and practical techniques related to water testing, purification and
storage systems: training local technicians, local authorities and communities in the use of water

Yugoslavia (Kosovo): June – July 1999, USAID-OFDA-DART (USA Government). Emergency
response consultant. To assess the water and sanitation infrastructure for rural and urban areas.
Duties: elaborating a strategy for the region, with respect to water and sanitation needs;
reviewing project proposals from NGOs, international Organizations and UN agencies; surveying
the current water and sanitation requirements and current availability of water and sanitation
equipment and supplies for emergency situations in the area and region; co-ordinating activities
with local NGOs and UNHCR. To help UN in the elaboration of the strategy for the emergency

and scale of damage caused by Hurricane George in the area, with respect to urban and rural
infrastructure. Duties: overseeing and supervising the implementation of the water and sanitation
component designed as part of the humanitarian assistance and reconstruction programme
funded by Oxfam.

Sudan. September – November 2012, Contracted by KPMG – ICAI (Independent Commission for
Aid Impact British Parliament) as a WASH Consultant – Evaluator, to review the Department for
International Development’s (DFID’s) water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programmes from
2007 - 2012 in Sudan. As part of a team, the review carried out the technical aspects, the water
policy schemes, the validity of Humanitarian Common Funds (CHF) and DFIDs strategy (including
WASH coordination) for Sudan.
Afghanistan: May – June 2011. ACF – EUROAID. Evaluation of a Major urban Water and Sanitation
project including the rehabilitation of Water treatment plant, network distribution system,

work: External evaluation and supervision of the water projects financed by ECHO – UNHCR for

and scale of Oxfam’s response to the impact of the El Nino phenomenon (droughts and floods) in
South America, with respect to timeliness, level of need and capacity of Oxfam and its local
