They export fabrics mainly from Aravind Company (India), Hong Hu Company
(China) &Bombay Rayon Company (India).
8. Merchandising department is the root of the whole process. It starts with receiving
an order then they have to get it approved
Sample room
Sample room is very important section of the factory. Orders are mainly depend
on this section.
First sample room received a style file from the buyer.
Then sample room make the first fit sample.
Then it sends to the buyer .

9. Trims stores
All accessories, care labels, wires, Hangers, threads are stored . They
store goods according to the colour, size, and so on.
Fabric stores
All fabrics are store in this stores. There are many types of fabrics in
this store. These are, Knitted fabrics, Cotton fabrics, and Laminated fabrics.
They store the fabrics according to the supplier’s names.

10. Fabric inspections are done in the stores itself.
In the inspections they try to recognize fabric defects.
10% of Fabric is sent to Inspection of Surface Defects.

12. After fabric has been relaxed, it is transferred to the spreading and
cutting area . Fabric is spread to,
Allow operators to identify fabric defects;
Control the tension and slack of the fabric during cutting; and
Ensure each ply is accurately aligned on top of the others

14. In this department they calculate Standard Minute Value (SMV)
In this method calculates period of hours to sew garment.
Planning to achieve accurate and efficient method to complete a work in a
giving time.
SMV is used to calculate the efficient of the company,
Efficiency% = SMV x Production quantity x 100
Working minutes per day
Efficiency is measured & Incentives will be provided according to the
Efficiency & acquiring of Targets.

15. Production section is the biggest section in this factory.
700 working on production area.
In this section each line has 30 workers.
This company use Line balance method to
improve efficiency
Production inspection
A quality checker in each production line checks 40% of the products for
the defects in sewing and mistakes done by the workers. They record the
defects and audit it.

16. At the very beginning they do fabric inspections, trim inspections and
other necessary inspections to keep the quality of the product.
AQL(Acceptable Quality Level) standards are followed
Quality is checked
during Production (IPC- Initial Production Check) -100% checked
after Production (SPC- Statistical Process Control) – at least 40%
checked
If garment is passed through the inspections, they will send them to the
shipment. Failed garments will send back for corrections with failure
sheet.

18. Fire alarms, fire exist, fire controlling chemicals have been given to the all
sections for achieving high safety of working people.
First aid boxes are given to the each and every line and to the sections.
All trims, which is in the stores are covered by poly pack cover.
They use metal gloves for safety when they are used manual cutting
instruments.
They maintain metal free zone.

This factory is the most profitable factory in the paradigm
clothing group.
They maintain metal free zone concept to impress byers.
This company use 5’s concept and it is very useful to the
production process.
All workers have quite fair image about the company. They are
satisfied.

20. Main weakness is they do not have enough space to store the packed
cartons. They store them in the production facility.
In the cutting section they use manual spreading methods hence
efficiency get down gradually when a big order is placed.
This factory doesn’t have laboratory facilities to perform several tests
required by various buyers.
Factory still uses several old techniques in some processes.(Ex-Metal
checking machine is very old)
They must pay attention about the canteen facilities.
In the production lines they maintain green card, red card system but it
isn’t working properly.
Cutting section& embroider section wasn’t air conditioned hence
atmosphere isn’t supporting the workers.
