What is digestive
system?
The digestive system is a group of
organs working together to convert food
into energy and basic nutrients to feed
the entire body.
The process of breaking up and
dissolving of food so that it can be used
by the body is called digestion.

  • 5. 3 Hooray! We are Grade VI-Rizal students. And we LOVE FOOD TRIP! But had you ever ask if where does our food that we eat goes? Well, that is very interesting. Today we will have a special trip with the foods. This will be the best trip ever!
  • 6. 4 If I will eat this food, which part of my digestive system has the first responsibility? Yes, its my mouth. But after my mouth, where it goes? Hmmm As we go on with our lesson, we will learn more about our digestive system
  • 7. What is digestive system? The digestive system is a group of organs working together to convert food into energy and basic nutrients to feed the entire body. The process of breaking up and dissolving of food so that it can be used by the body is called digestion. 5

MOUTH ESOPHAGUS LIVER STOMACH LARGE INTESTINE SMALL INTESTINE RECTUM Transports food to stomach Breaks up food particles Food storage and digestion of protein Completes digestion It is where undigested food is temporarily stored. It reabsorbs most of the water and minerals. It is the passage of undigested food from the large intestine. Emulsification of fats An opening where waste come out the body.
