About People's Prep Charter School
People’s Prep’s mission is to prepare all
of its students to graduate from the
college of their choice as informed,
involved, and resilient citizens. Since
2011, People’s Prep has provided a
high-performing, college-preparatory
high school for Newark students and
their families. The school is committed to
facing every challenge along this path
and to working alongside its students
and families to meet them. The school’s

Business Case Challenge
Through SuitUp, volunteers from Away and students from People's Prep Charter
School participated in a SuitUp business competition in which they created a new
product or service that makes travel easy for youth. Volunteers coached students in
various departments before helping them pitch to judges for a cash prize.

SuitUp asked students if Away’s SuitUp competition made an

engaging with the volunteers influenced their career choice and
now they can see themselves using skills such as communication,
teamwork and public speaking.

Away launched in 2016 with one perfectly designed carry-on and has since expanded to offer an array of luggage and travel essentials built for the modern traveler. Away has been named one of Fast Company's "World's Most Innovative Companies" and has been recognized on TIME's list of "Best Inventions.” About People's Prep Charter School People’s Prep’s mission is to prepare all of its students to graduate from the college of their choice as informed, involved, and resilient citizens. Since 2011, People’s Prep has provided a high-performing, college-preparatory high school for Newark students and their families. The school is committed to facing every challenge along this path and to working alongside its students and families to meet them. The school’s values are grit, empathy, achievement, curiosity, humility, and enthusiasm. 28 students & volunteers engaged

  • 4. 4 Business Case Challenge Through SuitUp, volunteers from Away and students from People's Prep Charter School participated in a SuitUp business competition in which they created a new product or service that makes travel easy for youth. Volunteers coached students in various departments before helping them pitch to judges for a cash prize. Away Impact SuitUp asked students if Away’s SuitUp competition made an impact on their future career choice. 92% of students said that engaging with the volunteers influenced their career choice and now they can see themselves using skills such as communication, teamwork and public speaking. Follow us on social media and stay engaged in order to sign up for other volunteer opportunities in the future. SuitUp is always seeking new corporate partners to host and sponsor SuitUp competitions and events. We work across the US and even the UK. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, SuitUp is always seeking financial or in-kind support to continue our work in communities that need it most. All gifts are tax deductible.
