Educational Alliance partners
with local public schools to
create community schools
where: students have access
to free, meaningful extended
learning time opportunities;
school leaders are assigned
an Educational Alliance
Community School Director as
a partner in the
student-centered approach to
addressing challenges which
impede student learning during
the traditional school day; and
where all of the high-quality,
multi-generational programs
and services offered by
Educational Alliance are
accessible to students and
parents attending the
partnering schools.
SuitUp All Stars are individual
students that sign up outside
of their schools or
organizations to engage with
other students and industry
experts.

Through SuitUp, volunteer coaches, students from Education Alliance, and SuitUp All
Stars participated in a SuitUp business competition in which they created a new product
or service that supports young professionals beginning their careers at Forbes or in
another corporate setting. Volunteers coached students in various departments before
helping them pitch to a panel of Forbes judges for a cash prize.

Forbes’ Impact
SuitUp asked students if Forbes’ SuitUp competition made an
impact on their future career choice. 90% of students said that
participating in SuitUp influenced their career choice and now they
can see themselves using skills such as communication,
teamwork and public speaking.

Forbes Media’s brand extensions include real estate, education and financial services license agreements. About Our Students Educational Alliance partners with local public schools to create community schools where: students have access to free, meaningful extended learning time opportunities; school leaders are assigned an Educational Alliance Community School Director as a partner in the student-centered approach to addressing challenges which impede student learning during the traditional school day; and where all of the high-quality, multi-generational programs and services offered by Educational Alliance are accessible to students and parents attending the partnering schools. SuitUp All Stars are individual students that sign up outside of their schools or organizations to engage with other students and industry experts.

Business Case Challenge Through SuitUp, volunteer coaches, students from Education Alliance, and SuitUp All Stars participated in a SuitUp business competition in which they created a new product or service that supports young professionals beginning their careers at Forbes or in another corporate setting. Volunteers coached students in various departments before helping them pitch to a panel of Forbes judges for a cash prize.   • 5. From Student to CEO… A look at how we are changing life trajectories through corporate skills-based volunteering
  • 6. Forbes’ Impact SuitUp asked students if Forbes’ SuitUp competition made an impact on their future career choice. 90% of students said that participating in SuitUp influenced their career choice and now they can see themselves using skills such as communication, teamwork and public speaking. Students are now interested in exploring the following fields: Business Administration / Entrepreneurship 40% Education 10% Graphic/Web Design 30% Fashion Design 20% Financial Services 20% Marketing 40% Media/Public Relations 20% STEM 20% Other 30%
  • 7. Same time next week? 100% of students feel more confident in school and preparing for a career after working with SuitUp 100% of students enjoyed interacting with the corporate volunteers 100% of students would like to participate in SuitUp again

During the competition, we overheard… “ I appreciate my coaches for making me feel comfortable when presenting and being informative. – SuitUp Student I wish there was something like this when i was growing up or in school.
