Don’t rinse the burn area with dirty water
Keep flushing the affected burn until the patient’s

prosecution and prevention of acid attacks, and
rehabilitation of survivors

10. Steps Taken By Government
Section, 326A; in the Indian Penal Code making acid attacks
a gender neutral offence. A person convicted under it would be
punished with a minimum of 10 years imprisonment which
could extend to life term and could be asked to pay up to Rs 10
lakh as fine.
To impose a fine of Rs.50, 000 on sellers who do not maintain
a register on personal information about buyers of Acid.
The Ministry has said a compensation of at least Rs.3 lakh
should be given to acid attack victims by the State government
concerned as after-care and rehabilitation cost.
11. Sheroes Hangout is an initiative by
Stop Acid Attacks campaign that was
founded in New Delhi in 2013.
Hangout is readers' cafe, an activism
workshop, a community radio hub, and
an exhibit space, where works crafted
by Sheroes is on display.
