1. CLOUD COMPUTING

2. MEANING OF CLOUD COMPUTING
• The hardware and operating environment of a server in an
Internet-based datacenter. The system software components
are called the cloud stack.
• The software infrastructure for a cloud computing service,
which includes applications that let users create and manage
their own accounts.

3. AIMS OF CLOUD COMPUTING
• To allow users to take benefit from all of the technologies,
without the need for deep knowledge about or expertise
with each one of them.
• To cut costs and helps the users focus on their core business
instead of being impeded by IT obstacles.
• To separate a physical computing device into one or more
"virtual" devices, each of which can be easily used and
managed to perform computing tasks.

4. FUNCTIONS OF CLOUD COMPUTING
• BACK-UP: It automatically saves content, making it
impossible to lose or delete any valuable material.
• STORAGE: It Allows its users to store almost all types
of content and data likemusic, documents, ebooks,
applications, photos, etc.
• ACCESIBILITY: Any data stored in the cloud can be
easily accesed from almost any devices like mobile
phones or tablets.

• COLLABORATION: Because the cloud allows multiple
users to work on an edit documents at the same time,
it enables effortless sharing and transmission of
ideas. With this function, group projects and
collaborative lesson plans can be optimised for both
teachers and students.

• RESOURCE AND TIME CONSCIOUS : With the
availability of content online, it is no longer
necessary for teachers to spend time and resources
printing or copying lengthy documents or lsson plans.
• ASSIGNMENTS : It allows teachers to post
assignments online. Students are able to access these
assignments, complete them, and save them, in a
folder to be reviewed later.

7. SERVICES IN CLOUD COMPUTING
• Software as a service: It is the highest level of cloud
computing which is currently of most interest in
education. Not only is the data stored in the cloud but
the application is too , with the user requiring only a
web browser.
• Platform as a Service: It is the second level of cloud
computing which enables customers to install their
own applications using a platform specified by the
service provider.

• Infrastructure as a Service: It is the lowest level of
cloud computing where customers can rent basic
resources like processors and storage, and use them
to run their own operating systems and applications.

• No more carrying around devices, such as
thumb drive or CDs
• Easily Accessible
• Shareability
• Trackability

10. DISADVANTAGES

• Accesibility
• Security

11. CLOUD COMPUTING IN EDUCATION
• No more expensive textbooks
• No more outdated learning materials
• No expensive hardware and software required
• Reaching more and more diverse students
