REFLECTIONS

2.  This proforma is to record how you worked on your production
 You should complete this each week during production
 Consider all relevant areas that you covered that week
 Think about what worked/what didn’t work/how you can
improve and actions for the following sessions/weeks

3.  In week one we needed to make experiments and practice
with the equipment I found this to be very useful I feel
that it gave me practice straight away with the camera
and also enabled me to get into the project more and
make me more enthusiastic about what I was going to
make, I think that this was a great way to start the unit
and feel that that I did a good job of the experiment.
 In the same week we had to start our initial plans
document, I started this well but I feel my time
management was poor and I didn’t give myself anywhere
near enough time to complete the work when I should of
done it quicker in the time I had, I sept to much time on
the experiments and this caused me to fall behind on my
initial plans but in the end I did get it done, just a bit late
by my standards but it was in for the deadline.

4.  On week 2 we finished off the initial plan and started
writing the proposal, I felt a bit rushed by this and think
that it was a jump to get that done within half of the
week but I was able to compete the proposal to the
deadline and get in on time and I feel it was to a good
standard and think with more time I could have done
better, my time management at this bit was much better
then the first week and I had spent time at home over the
weekend catching up on the work.
 In the second half of the week worries began, the weather
struck. Snow for the full week pretty much, but the last 2
days college was closed and we had to complete research
PowerPoint by the end of the week luckily I was able to
complete this at home that weekend but I feel that I got
it done to a good standard and think that my time
management considering the circumstances was very
good.

5.  In week three there was more weather conditions for the
first part of the week this meant that there was more
days off and on these day we was meant to had finished
research and as I had done it over the weekend I was
able to have it complete and ready for the deadline.
 In the second part of the week we was back at college
after the weather and needed to complete pre production
PowerPoint as soon as possible so that we could all get
started on production for the short film, in doing this my
time management I feel was good, but could have been
better I got pre production complete but couldn’t film
until the weak after.
 In the third part of the week I spent time going through
and over my previous work and making some
improvements while I waited for the next week to start
my production, I feel I did a good job of this and
completed it to a good standard.

6.  In this week it was time for production. In the first part
of the week I filmed the project and gathered all the
footage that I needed I feel disappointed as a whole I was
unfortunately let down by someone that was supposed to
be in my short film as a major role and couldn’t replace
him and so the story had to be re planned on the spot and
I did the best I could in the time that I had and I didn’t
have much time because the people who did come/ show
up had to leave after a certain amount of time which
wasn’t long enough to capture all the footage I needed for
the film I wanted but I did gather enough for me to make
something out of it.
 The second part of the week was editing my work I
brought back all the footage that I recorded and added it
into adobe premier I then used the unlink tool to delete
the audio that I had already on the footage I created
different bins for each part of the footage for example
outdoor and indoor and used the drag tool to move my
footage about and then the cut tool to cut what I didn’t
want. I feel I managed my time well on this part of the
work.


7.  In the final week I went out with a audio recorder and
collected sounds together for my short film as I had
corrupted the file when I had done it the week before, I
got this done quickly and was able to edit it into the
project straight away, I feel I got this done well and
decisively which is good time management.
 In the second part of the week I created a soundtrack for
the short film and then put it al together, I was on a
whole happy with what I produced given the issues I had
but from what I wanted I was very unhappy with the
outcome of the project the story didn’t make sense due to
my cast not being there, and there are big improvements
to be made, if I could I would re do the entire short film.
 After the short film was done in the last part of the week
we had to complete the evaluation and I was able to get
this done quickly and spent time over the weekend
completing it with what I felt to be good time
management and that ended the unit.
