Reflection Diary (Production).pptx
1. Reflective Diary (week 1) Review
Today is the first day of production for our FMP and I’m feeling happy about the work I have
produced so far. After arriving late due to a cancelled train and lots of delays I was on the back foot,
but I used the time after I got in to continue the final parts for the planning. Once that was done, I
shot a few of the shots I needed and began the editing process on some of my clips. I also
experimented with a shot I wanted to try but I will complete that later due to the fact its very time
consuming. Overall, the shots and editing I’ve done so far, I'm happy with and I’m looking forward to
progressing onto the next stages of my film. My conclusions for today have been that I need to
properly finish off my planning in my own time and I need to record audio in my own time in order
to stay on track with my plan. Today I spent a bit of time filming and editing some more shots. It was
some final touches for the college part of my video, and I think that the result was very good for the
time I’ve spent on it. Over the next few days, I need to film more outside of college so I can continue
to the schedule that I've been working to.
2. Weekly Reflection (week 2)
• I spent a lot of time outside of college shooting the bulk of my horror story on the weekend. People were
free and nearly all the shots I used turned out very good. This set me in a very handy place for the college
days ahead meaning I could properly get the hard editing stuff done while keeping to my time plan. I spent
most of my Monday trimming down and editing the clips I had so they fit in the time frame I was looking for.
Clipping and trimming trickled over to Tuesday morning, but this meant I could begin looking at editing
techniques and what to add to my video. I spent my Tuesday afternoon working on finding what would work
an having practice runs on what might be worth trying and implemented them into my work on the
Wednesday morning. Eg. The rest of my day was spent writing up reflections for the week and tweaking little
bits towards my liking. I’d say this has been my most efficient week so far and hope to replicate it in the up-
and-coming weeks. My target for next week is to be near finishing the video aspect of things and being able
to use my final week as contingency time for other pieces of work I’d want to tweak.
3. Weekly Reflection (week 3)
My third week of production felt like things began to slow down gradually. All the filming had pretty much
been done and the bulk of the editing had been done. I still had parts of editing to do concerning trimming
things down and making sure that everything looked and sounded good. With college blocking mp3 converters
I found it difficult to progress with the audio side of things. I had some of my own audio but nearly all of it was
edited so things slowed down. Luckily, the feedback had been handed out for research and preproduction so I
could work on that while at college and work on my video when I'm at home. Next week I’m hoping to have
fully completed my production and maybe have knocked a healthy chunk out of my feedback work in college.
4. Weekly Reflection (week 4)
This week was my contingency week for completing any incomplete work weather that be from any
project before my FMP or things that need to be improved via my feedback sheet. Nearly all my
actual project was complete baring a few things which I finished on Monday. These being fitting
audio to match the video on the outside shots. I also began some of the reflection work at home as I
felt I’d hit a wall by the end of the week. Overall, I’m very happy with my final product and its my
favorite I’ve ever produced. Both production and planning elements have been done to a very high
standard and I’m hoping it can gain me at least a merit. In the final week I hope to have completed
all my feedback from my tutor and finish the evaluation fully and to a very high standard.
