Distribution & Inventory Control Manager
h Maintain the Director of Materials Management up to date of all activities, pertinent changes in
internal/external market. Threats and opportunities in a timely and anticipatory manner and present action
plans for immediate implementation/approval.
h Monitor department activities and recommend and implement changes as needed to improve services in
consultation with the Director of Materials management.
h Follow-up and resolve any issues related to receiving discrepancies, inventory shortages, lack of supplies in
designated par-value locations, and any inability to supply product or equipment to a customer in a timely
usable condition.
h Maintain inventory control of all supplies/equipment stored in the stockroom and off-site warehouse. Assure
that all issues and returns are properly documented and charged to the applicable expense code.
h Assure that all supplies/equipment received are inspected for serviceability, identification and quantity coincide
with the packing slip and purchase order.
h Assure that all supplies/equipment are transported to the appropriate department or stored in the warehouse in
an efficient manner and in accordance with JCAHO and OSHA safety guidelines, as well as assuring that MSDS
and Hazardous materials information is maintained and supplied to appropriate personnel as received.
h Oversee the packaging, stamping and coding of all supplies/equipment/instruments being sent for repair,
exchange or credit. Select the most feasible and economical means for transportation of all shipped items, and
make all required follow-up action on any lost or damaged shipments.
h Initiate the establishment of all supply points for all departments and units. Establish schedules for all
inventories and replenishments. Responsible for stock control consistent with various departments' usage and
make recommendations to purchasing on what levels should be established to ensure that supplies are readily
available. Update par-levels on a quarterly basis to ensure that they are sufficient to meet demands.
h Responsible for the preparation of stock orders based on inventory usage, and communication of requirements
to purchasing.
h Prepare and give performance appraisals for all stockroom, mailroom and courier personnel.
h Confer with the Director on matters concerning the hiring, disciplinary action and termination of all stockroom
personnel.
h Oversee the conducting of physical inventories in the warehouse and stockroom.
h Develop and maintain all staffing schedules for the warehouse, stockroom, distribution, courier and mailroom
personnel.
h Prepare and justify annual staff and supply budgets for the warehouse, storeroom, distribution and mailroom.
