Controlers for industrial process and OEM manufacturers
1. THE BEST VIRTUAL EXPO FOR INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION
PRODUCTS
Introduction to :
Controlers
2. There are many different types of controlers that are found in
different industries and applications are as Below:
Counters Timers
Power controlers Data recorders
PLC Frequency converters
Softstarters
3. C o u n t e r s
Counters controller are electrical, mechanical or
computer program devices used in panel
components of electrical based circuits to store
the total number of times a particular event in the
electrical systems has occurred. Counters are
most widely or popularly used in digital electrical
circuits found in various machinery or equipment.
Controllers units may be manufactured as
independent separate integrated circuits installed
in electrical equipment or incorporated in
electrical circuits as smaller parts that are used to
complete a larger integrated circuit. this devices
can come in handy in translating the electrical
processes found in technological devices for
human users to help them in identifying and
deciding on the most appropriate course of
action.
4. Ti m e r s
Controller timers are specialized types of electrical
clocks used for measuring time intervals from one
event to another event in electrical equipment.
Electrical controller timers can be categorized into
two namely stopwatch timers and countdown
timers.
5. P o w e r c o n t r o l e r s
They are specialized electrical devices that are
fitted to or connected to electrical circuits to
regulate the amount of electrical voltage allowed
for normal functioning to take place. Power
controllers may have step up or step down
properties in terms of their functions.
Step up power controllers are used to boost the
amount of electrical voltage found in electrical
circuits while step down power controller
properties can enable them to reduce the amount
of electrical current into the most appropriate
level for normal machinery or equipment
functioning.
6. D a t a r e c o r d e r s
Data recorders are used to achieve control in
electrical panels by having logs of various data
processed over time hence will be effective in
advising users on the most appropriate action
while also allowing monitoring of the electrical
processes. Data recorders found inside electronic
equipment are easily identified as they are small
in size, portable, have sensors, powered by
batteries and are equipped with microprocessors.
Data recorders may be general purpose in
nature or specially designed to perform highly
specific functions in electrical systems.
7. P L C
Programmable logic controllers are universally
known by their acronym PLC. They are referred
simply as programmable controllers by most
manufacturers. PLC are types of digital
computers used to automate industrial
electromechanical processes like control of
machinery and equipment in in large scale
production of goods.
PLC are designed to work in extended
temperature ranges, have high resistance to
noise, vibration or impact, multiple arrangements
of digital and analogue input or outputs among
others.
8. F r e q u e n c y c o n ve r t e r s
Frequency changers can to a small extent result
in changes in electrical voltage. Frequency
converters can convert bulk amounts of power,
control the amount of speed and torque levels of
alternating current motors. In low- powered
circuits, frequency converters may be used to
convert radio frequency signals from one
frequency to the other.
9. S o f t s t a r t e r s
Softstarters are electrical devices used together
with alternating current electrical equipment to
temporarily reduce the load, torque andelectrical
current surge during start-up of electrical
equipment. Softstarters can reduce wear and
tear in machinery as the processes involved
reduces mechanical stress applied to the motor
and shaft and the attached electrical cables
attached.
