2. Audience Feedback
These four designs were the final four I chose to pick for my audience in my class to give me feedback on. Masthead 4 was the one
people thought was the worst; I got comments back from the audience saying it was too bold, too old fashioned with a 60’s genre and
therefore this didn’t fit with the genre I am giving my music magazine. Masthead 1 got 2 votes with some negative and some positive
feedback. Many people said the font was simple, clear, cool and easy to read however some thought it was dull and needs more
complexity to catch the eye of the audience. Masthead 2 and Masthead 3 got the same amount of votes with 3 each. Masthead 2 some
people said it was too sophisticated for the genre of my magazine and other people agreed with them. On the other hand the other half
of people said that hey really liked it as it was cool and professional. Masthead 3 had the most positive feedback overall: some said it
looks hipster (Indie Rock specific), someone said that even though the E and O were oversized and out of proportion it made the font
look unique and stand out, looks Indie and different therefore perfect for my genre of magazine. Out of these after looking at the
audience’s feedback I think I will use Masthead 3, it had the most positive feedback and everyone thought it would fit very well to the
genre of magazine I intend to produce.
