3. When searching for radio advertisements featuring local newspapers I was unable to find any so
found other radio advertisements as an example. I found three about Tesco, Thorpe Park and
Samsung. They all have many similarities such as the length. They typically all tend to be 20-30
seconds long. They often have music in the background which relates to what is being said in the
advert. For example in the Samsung Galaxy advert ‘a sparkle in my daughters smile’ is said followed
by a laughter. Often in army and RAF adverts when ‘trigger’ is said the sound of a gunshot is
followed by this. This is done so that the audience can recognise the product or service it is
advertising. There is usually one person speaking in the advert with a loud and clear voice over the
music. This is so that they are understandable to the audience. Sometimes someone will begin to
read with in a slower voice and then another person will continue towards the end however
speaking at a faster pace which is normally done when something is being listed and for the terms
and conditions. This is done to inform the audience however it is spoken fast as that isn’t the part
you are selling to the audience. Slogans are also used at the end of the advert which differentiates a
brand from competitors. I will also use music in my radio advert as well as a slogan to make the
advertising of my product look as professional as possible and also have a tune that reminds the
audience of my product when it is heard.
