Working Title: Halloween radio advert.
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Target Platform: Because my radio advert is aimed at a younger audience (16-19) I aim to
have my radio advert on popular radio stations such as capital, so then my advert will be
heard by my set audience target.
What media platform/platforms would you release the product on?
Genre: the genre of my radio advert is horror; I’ve chosen this genre because a lot of young
kids enjoy Halloween and the scary atmosphere it brings. so, by creating a
Halloween/horror-based radio advert with creepy sounds effects, for example ghostly
noises or coffin doors creaking, putting an instant image in their heads of a horror
graveyard scene.
What sort of a media product is it?
Language / Territories: I would only like to release my advert in the United Kingdom
because I know my product would be heard by many because Halloween is widely
celebrated around the United Kingdom. It wouldn’t be suitable worldwide just because not
every country celebrates Halloween and it would be pointless to release an advert to in a
country that has no interest in the Halloween genre. My advert is and isn’t suitable because
certain people who don’t believe or celebrate Halloween won’t have any interest in my
advert and it won’t get heard by as many people as I would like it to.
What countries would you release it in? Would it be suitable worldwide or is it targeted at a specific
population? Is it unsuitable for any cultures or beliefs?
Synopsis / Treatment / Story / How the game plays: my product is about a graveyard, late at
night being disrupted by ghostly apparitions. With this being a Halloween themed radio
advert, I have incorporated multiple sound effects to really put across a horror vibe to my
audience. Then when they hear a coke bottle being opened and my slogan appearing, they
will fully understand that its an advert about coca cola. My main message is to let my
audience know that coca cola can be enjoyed at any time of the year whether that be
Halloween, birthdays, new year, not just Christmas.

Style (similar products and graphical style): my product is similar to a Halloween festival
advert or a horror film advert. I’ve used these as inspiration because I personally love
Halloween and the horror theme and I thought that other children my age and above will
enjoy a radio advert about coca cola based on horror, really setting them into the mood for
Halloween.
What product is yours similar to? Why have you used it for inspiration?

Audience: my audience target is aimed at 16-19 year olds of both genders because I believe
Halloween isn’t just celebrated by one gender, both female and male can find joy in my radio
advert because it might boost that Halloween spirit just a little more for those who know its
Halloween but are not interested in the dressing up side it. For those who celebrate
Halloween by dressing up and going to parties might enjoy my radio advert that little bit
extra because it will boost their Halloween spirt even more.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your product appeal to this person?
Legal & Ethical Considerations: my radio advert will not include any offensive material that
could potentially offend anyone or promote any bad behaviour. It won’t restrict any young
audience from hearing it because that’s what I’ve aimed my radio advert for so my young
audience as well as my older audience can still listen to it. Its not going to offend any
religious /social groups because I don’t want to cause conflict between different ethnicities.
To ensure I don’t offend anyone or cause any conflict, I’m not going to include any offensive
material or explicit pictures that could trigger anyone I want to keep it as family friendly as
possible but still keep the scary Halloween theme. My product will include the coca cola
phrase as that is what I’m advertising. My product will be different from existing adverts to
avoid copyright claims against my advert so I will be sure to switch it up from already
existing adverts, for example I wont place my sound effect in an order that sounds similar to
another advert, I won’t use a slogan that has already been used, I will make up my own. This
will ensure that my product is my own and I haven’t jut stolen someone else’s.

Is your product using characters/names/logos of existing ones?
