  2. 2. Okay… You’ve got a great club or a really exciting event…and you want to get the word out. How do you make it happen??

  4. 4. NOT SO FAST!!!!!

  6. 6. Who are you? or What is your event?
  7. 7. What do you want people to know and remember about your club or event? What’s your “message”?
  8. 8. Three Simple Guidelines… Make it short. Make it simple. Make it personal.
  9. 9. “We are THE organization for YOU if you’re interested in…”
  10. 10. “What’s it like to be in charge of public relations for the US Navy? Rear Admiral Vic Beck will talk about his experience in the Mideast and around the world…”
  11. 11. You’ve got your message. Now what???

  13. 13. You have an amazing variety of choices here at Curry College for spreading the word including…

  15. 15. Also… ►Partner with other clubs on campus to promote your club or your event. ►Ask your professors to let you make an announcement in class. ►Talk to your classmates… your friends…anyone!
  16. 16. Not everything works for every activity or event… Start broad and narrow down as you go along.
  17. 17. Timing
  18. 18. When is too early?? When is too late??
  19. 19. CLUBS Recruiting/promoting your club should be for a year-long effort…it should never stop.
  20. 20. CLUBS Start recruiting/promoting at the beginning of the semester when everyone is back on campus and back into “school mode.”
  21. 21. EVENTS ►Scheduling ►Timeline
  22. 22. EVENTS Start with yourself… ►How far ahead do you like to hear about an event? ►How often do you want to be reminded?? Use that as a guideline…
  23. 23. ACTION One word…DELEGATE! You can’t do it all yourself.
