4. Wealth at the bottom of
pyramid
The bottom of the pyramid , bottom of the
wealth pyramid or the bottom of the income
pyramid is the largest , but poorest socio -
economic group . In global terms , this is
the 2.7 billion people who live on less than
2.50 a day .
5. Why is important?
Profits are critically important for ventures targeting
the bottom of the economic pyramid—the more
than 4 billion people who individually earn less
than $1,500 per year. Compared with a social
responsibility project, a profitable business stands
a better chance of being able to increase its scale
and impact.
6. Bottom of the pyramid products
The “bottom of the pyramid” concept is
the theory that even the poorest markets
in the world can be revenue generating
for companies if they tailor their product
and packaging to these markets.
