7. Separation of vitamins
1.Prepare I ml solution of mentioned vitamins
Along with unknown solution .
2.Spot each plate with one of the solution with the help of
capillary tube.

9. Now place plates in
developing chamber
containing a mixture of
80percent
cyclohexane.20percent
diethyl ether

10. .Allow eluting
mixture to
move about
15cm.
.Remove the
plates and
mark the
position of the
solvent front
with pencil

11. Marking method

12. Observe on green fluorescent back
ground. And calculate Rf value.
Dry chromatogram
And placed in short
wave uv light.

13. Calculate Rf value

15. Result
1.Vitamin A turns blue
2.Vitamin d3 shows yellow orange color.
3.Vitamin E is visible when heated with plate.
