When events happen around the world, Twitter is the first place that you commonly see it. In recent history, some news was reported or seen on Twitter before it was reported by the major new networks. CAUTION: Looks for multiple sources when looking for news on Twitter.
Many trends which are happening in society can be seen on twitter. The newest, hottest topic shows up on Twitter. Do you know how to see a trend?
When this screen shot was taken, this is what was trending in Alberta. Do you know where to find this? Do you know how to change the geographic where you are trending?
Trends on found on your home screen, just below your profile view
To change the geography of where you are trending, click on the change button to the left of the area you are trending.
You don’t have to trend off a location; you can trend off a number of locations or you can allow Twitter to decide what you trends you see

Everyone compares their social media platform to Facebook since it is the biggest. As a group/company page, how can you reach out to engage with your followers? You can post onto your page but if you want to send a message to someone, you have to go into your old messages to do it, you can write a new message to someone. On Twitter, you can reach out to anyone who is on Twitter, as long as they haven’t blocked you!
What is the point for you to send out that message? Is your message being consistent between platforms? (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc)
Are you able to be consistent? (voice, grammar, visuals, timing of content) to help build trust (keep account activity)
Collaborate with others to give each other access to your own audience
Reach out to people using search and engage with them, help them out.
Stay relevant with the information that you are sending out.
Be humble, do your best work, and following (and hence engagement) will increase in time
Whenever you are about to post something, ask yourself, is this post going to add value to my followers?

Popular hashtags used in #yeg. On Instagram, you can use 30 hashtags with approximately 12-18 considered to be optimal. Twitter invited the hashtag but don’t use too many in a tweet. Maximum 3 but you can go over if you spin a comedy or laughter into the tweet. Hashtags can be googled directly and show the results in Twitter.

Website is imperative for a business related account – the whole point of social media is to create relationships and to drive traffic to your website for future sales.
We know what her latest topic of conversation is

Twitter does not filter its content through any algorithms, so what you tweet is exactly what your followers will see. This is a double-edged sword, because you are then competing with thousands of other tweets that your followers see. Tweet frequently and make sure that you are adding value. Tweeting frequently means different things to different groups. Some people or organizations tweet every twenty minutes while others (like myself) tweet 5 times per day.
People are always being sold to, they don’t want to be sold to online. If you build,

For Mad Customers:
Don’t hide from them…engage with them. Acknowledge the problem…as soon as possible. It is an opportunity to improve your services/products, and shows that you care about the customer experience (other customers will notice)
Find out what the issue is, if it even does exist
Take the conversation offline with either DM, email, or phone number
Always say thank you. If conversation was taken off line, follow up in public afterwards to ensure that everything is okay.
1. Who are your folllowers? What is the common element that brings them to you? What can you bring to them to help them out? You can use Twitter analytics to help you out for this.
Which tweet seems to be more interesting to you? Which tweet are you most likely to click on?
Pictures used don’t have to be custom, can use stock images.. At the very least, have a website that peole can click on.
Tweets are not like a Showtime Rotisserie Grill – you can’t ‘set it and forget it’. Tweets are like children. You need to nurture them over time and keep testing and refining until you get it right.
Double down on content that works. Tweets and content that perform get published over and over again. Tweets or content that are duds quickly find their way out of the rotation. Feedback is provided to the team that created the content to let them know why we felt that it didn’t perform. Don’t be afraid to use a script of tweets that you cut and paste into your software.
Don’t be scared to allow your tweets to reflect a portion of your personality. Don’t be scared to be funny. Social media is just like being at a business mixer, people are going to talk to people they find interesting.
