2009 10 Classroom Routine And Procedures

  2. 2. Daily Routine
  3. 3. #1 <ul><li>Enter the room quietly and orderly. </li></ul>
  4. 4. #2 <ul><li>Get supplies ready, sharpen pencils, etc. </li></ul>
  5. 5. #3 <ul><li>Turn in any homework or notes to blue box. </li></ul>
  6. 6. #4 <ul><li>Open your composition book and write the day and date. </li></ul>
  7. 7. #5 <ul><li>Copy the “Essential Question” and agenda of the days work. </li></ul>
  8. 8. #6 <ul><li>Copy down the two “Daily Geography” questions. </li></ul><ul><li>Use your text or atlas to answer the questions. </li></ul><ul><li>About every two weeks, you will have a quiz on this information. </li></ul><ul><li>Your composition book will be your study guide. </li></ul>
  9. 9. #7 <ul><li>Quietly wait for further instruction. </li></ul><ul><li>Read your text or other book. </li></ul><ul><li>Look at an atlas. </li></ul><ul><li>On test or quiz days, you may use this time to study. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Classroom Procedures
  11. 11. Assigned Work <ul><li>The teacher will assign a due date. </li></ul><ul><li>All work should be turned into the blue box. </li></ul>
  12. 12. Paper Heading <ul><li>On the top right side of the paper, put: </li></ul><ul><li>Name </li></ul><ul><li>Date </li></ul><ul><li>Period </li></ul>
  13. 13. Late Work <ul><li>Assigned work is expected to be turned in by the due date. </li></ul><ul><li>Late work will be penalized up to 10 points per day. </li></ul><ul><li>Late work will only be accepted up until the corresponding unit test. </li></ul>
  14. 14. Make-up Work <ul><li>The policy is that for every day absent, one has two days to make up the work and get it turned in. </li></ul>
  15. 15. Test Re-take Policy <ul><li>You may re-take ONE test each nine weeks. </li></ul><ul><li>You must attend a morning tutoring session before you are allowed to re-take the test. </li></ul><ul><li>The re-take test will be a different test. </li></ul><ul><li>You will get the higher grade of the two tests. </li></ul>
  16. 16. Raise hand <ul><li>You must wait to be recognized before speaking. </li></ul><ul><li>No blurting out or talking during instructional time. </li></ul>
  17. 17. Instructional Time <ul><li>If it is instructional time, you must stay in your seat at all times unless you have permission to get up. </li></ul><ul><li>That includes asking permission to get tissue, sharpening pencils or throwing trash away. </li></ul>
  18. 18. Independent Work <ul><li>You do not need permission to do things like sharpening your pencil, getting tissue, glue, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>If, however, you are taking advantage to “walk around the room” you will be told to go sit down and ask permission next time. </li></ul>
  19. 19. Fire Drills <ul><li>In the event of a fire drill, you would of course get up and exit the classroom. </li></ul><ul><li>Students are expected to remain absolutely quiet. </li></ul><ul><li>Talking will result in a detention. </li></ul>
  20. 20. Dismissal from Class <ul><li>The Teacher ALWAYS dismisses class and not the bell. </li></ul>
