2. WHAT IS AN ADJECTIVE?
An adjective is a word that
modifies, or describes, a noun or a
pronoun.
Adjectives are the key to effective
descriptive writing; nouns need to be
qualified by at least one adjective or
more to enable the reader to picture
what is being described.
Adjectives tell the reader how much or how many
— of whatever you're talking about, what you'd
like passed to you, or what kind of things you'd
like. We use adjectives to give your nouns to
communicate clearly.
3. Size, shape and colour can be a good start for describing adjectives.
Example:
“This is an apple.”
- Add a couple of adjectives.
“ This is a large green apple.
“A medium sized, round, red hairbrush with
several rows of bristles.”
- Much clearer image of the object.

2) He was wearing a tie.
