Computers & Education
What is E-Learning?
• Teaching and learning process by using
internet media, internet or other computer
network in order to give the material to the
students.
• E-learning is learning supported or enhanced
through the application of Information and
Communications Technology.
Important Tools
• Education delivered by electronic form.
• It needs equipment maintenance
• Internet accessibility
• hardware and software needed
Critical success factors in e-learning (CSF)
• Intrinsic and extrinsic motivation
• It is categorized into several factors
• include design, instructor, support, content issue, technology and
infrastructure.
Social cognitive theory (SCT)
• It analyzes human behavior
• Self- efficacy and outcome expectation
• It is important in Information System research
Information system success model &
Technology acceptance model
• Information System found system quality
• Information quality and system quality influence learner
• TAM is a popular IS model
• Four construction in a model
Research framework
Motivation & Learners’ characteristics
• Motivation is of two types, intrinsic and extrinsic.
• Extrinsic motivation is useful
• Learners’ characteristics benefit e- learning
• Prior studies indicate learner characteristics
Research method
• It is taken place by Delphi method
• This study employed web-based questionnaires and paper-based.
• Participants were requested to list at least six important factors that influence
e-learning success
• The participants were asked during the second round of surveys: “How
important are the factors that influence e-learning success in developing
countries?”
Limitations
• Need to find stakeholder
• Stakeholder are of two types only
Methods of E-Learning in Bangladesh
1.Web Site base education system
2.Multimedia base education
3.Social Media base education
Web Site base education system
1. Muktopaath
2. Khan Academy
3. Shikkhok Dot Com
4. Ten Minute School
Multimedia base Education
Now a days Education system has no bounds, whether its in a rural
area. For E-Learning here the ways are used :
1. Screencast
2. E-portfolio
3. PDA
4. CDRom
5. E-Discussion board
6. Chat
7. Skype
8. Educational Animation
9. Virtual Classroom
Social Media base education
1. YouTube based Education.
Advantage of E-learning
1. There has no problem about visa or abroad education system
2. No chance of session jots
3. No age problem
4. Class work can be scheduled around work and family
5. Reduces traveling time and traveling costs
6. Option to select learning materials that meets their level of
knowledge and interest
7. Students can study anywhere if they have access to a computer and
Internet connection
8. Self-paced learning modules
Disadvantage of E-learning
1. Learners with low motivation or bad study habits may fall behind
2. Without the routine structures of a traditional class" students may get
lost or confused about course activities and deadlines
3. Students may feel isolated from the instructor and classmates
4. Instructor may not always be available while students are studying or
required help
5. Slow Internet connections or older computers may make accessing
course materials frustrating
6. Managing computer files and online learning software can sometimes
seem complex for students with beginner-level computer skills
7. Hands-on or lab work is difficult to simulate in a virtual classroom
