Introduction - who we are
We are value creators, plain and simple.
Our clients rely on us to properly plan and
thoughtfully design each project to achieve their
goals, maximize their investment, and create
spaces for their end-users that will be enjoyed for
many years.
In a nutshell. Studio Architects is a full-
service architecture firm with offices in Atlanta,
Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina.
Our expertise includes eSports, education,
housing, mixed-use, religious, senior living, and
sports+rec. We believe that listening to our
clients and exceeding their expectations daily is
our number one priority. Whether it’s through
our team’s hands on approach, attention to
detail, or leaving no stone unturned style, we
like to call ourselves designers and relationship
builders that partner with a client from day one
to help them achieve all of their goals.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS. In July of 2008, Greg
Clever and Alan James opened the Atlanta
Branch Office of Davis Architects in the
basement of Greg’s home to serve multifamily
and mixed-use developers with the intent of
providing hands-on, client driven services. Over
the next ten years, they worked tirelessly to fulfill
these goals and create award-winning, nationally
recognized projects. In 2018, Greg and Alan
purchased the Atlanta Office of Davis Architects
and Studio Architects was formed with the help
of dedicated and talented Principals James
Anderson, Chris Kacena, and Chris Van Kley, who
were elevated to Partners.
NEW BLOOD. In May of 2019, Geoff Clever joined
the firm as Principal and was tasked by the
partners of the firm with diversifying its portfolio
to include education, civic, and sports projects.
Geoff’s resume and portfolio of work included
numerous K-12 school systems, as well as County,
City, and Municipal entities in the Southeast,
Collegiate, and Athletic clients including the
University of Alabama, Clemson University,
University of Florida, University of Georgia, and
Auburn University. With these new areas of
expertise in the firm’s arsenal, Studio Architects
was able to offer an increased level of service to its
current and prospective clients.
TRIED & TRUE APPROACH. Collaboration is
the glue that binds all of our work. At Studio
Architects, we approach each project uniquely.
We work closely with each of our clients to
establish goals at the outset of a project and
diligently monitor these objectives as a job moves
through design, document preparation, and
construction phases. Principal involvement from
start to finish is paramount to our team’s hands-
on approach to ensure that quality is maintained
throughout the building design process. Each
project is staffed with a team
tailored to that specific project
type and led by a Principal with
the knowledge and experience
to ensure success.
WORDS TO WORK BY. We
love what we do. Whether it’s
working late to meet a deadline,
participating in a design
charrette, attending a lunch
& learn, playing ping pong at
lunch, or taking in a ball game,
we like to have fun.

The Sports+Rec Practice at Studio Architects
is a Southeast-based architectural workshop
specializing in athletic facility projects. Just sports
- men and women, varsity or club. We design

basketball, and baseball, but also design facilities
for non-traditional sports such as eSports, Ice
Hockey, and Rugby. Our practice is virtual with an
emphasis on recruiting, trends, and technology.
Firm services include Design, Master Planning,
Programming, Feasibility Studies, and Recruiting
/ Fundraising Packages. Our five-year goal is to
become the go-to sports+rec architectural firm
in the Southeast specializing in collegiate, prep
school, and parks+recreation projects, and in
particular, helping clients conceptualize proposed
facility improvements and developing recruiting
and/or fundraising material to generate interest,
capital, and buzz to move projects forward.

At Studio Architects, we are skilled
athletic facility planners. We understand
how athletic departments work when it
comes to planning facility improvements.
We realize the importance of proper
planning and conceptualizing proposed
improvements at the outset of an idea. We
appreciate the financial circumstances
of proposed facility improvements as
they relate to fundraising and recruiting
efforts. Whether the pre-design effort is an
athletic facilities master plan or a feasibility
study, Studio Architects possesses the
right expertise to plan, design, and deliver
drawings and marketing material to help
