This is my 1st version of my script for LO3-Unit 11 in the OCR Cambridge Tech Double Award in Media Studies.

1. A COUPLE’S CATASTROPHE

2. FADE IN:
EXT. Public Park – MID-AFTERNOON (5PM)
We zoom into the centre of Heath Town Park-particularly
under a tree, which is within the Heath Town area of the
city of Wolverhampton.
Nicole Kelly (seventeen) and Mark Francos (eighteen) are
holding hands and sitting under a tree in the centre of
the park. Mark then move to his bag, opens it and pulls
out a box-Nicole instantly puts her hands over her mouth
in shock realising what the item is.
Mark then stands up and kneels on to his right knee, after
a moment of hesitation.

Mark
Nicole-would you do the greatest honour of marrying me?
Will you marry me?
Car horn beeps for 1-½ seconds
Nicole
Yes Mark!!
Mark
I love you forever and ever
Nicole
Stop it- you’re making me cry!
Both then share a hug 10 seconds long and share a kiss on
the lips; one at the start of those 10 seconds and another
at the end of the period.
The couple stand up, holding hands and stroll very happily
down the park path sharing one more kiss along the way-
this lasts for around 8 seconds.
Turns to black for 2 seconds
Fades in to next scene with high tempo music & footage of
living room showing two annoyed people looking shocked.

3. INT. LIVING ROOM – LATE MORNING (11AM)
Low Angle Camera Shot, showing the post drop through the
letterbox on to the floor – Connor Hill (fifteen) runs to
the front door, picks up the correspondence and comes
back into the living run-all very quietly.
Ciara O’Dounaghue (sixteen), Connor’s boyfriend whom’s at
his house at the same time, places some of the post on to
a table.
One of the pieces is addressed to Connor
Ciara’s arm is wrapped around Connor’s waist
Ciara
What’s this for you?
Connor
I have not an idea-let’s see shall we…
Connor opens the envelope and displays a very shocked
face
Ciara
What’s up babe? You don’t seem very happy
Connor
Just look at this-it’s an invite for me and you to attend
Nicole’s and Mark’s wedding in 3 months time at Himley
Hall
Ciara
You’ve got to be kidding me?!?!
Connor
It certainly isn’t I’m afraid-they broke both our hearts;
why can’t we break there’s…
Both stomp into the kitchen and open a draw-Ciara pulls
out a roller
Ciara
Looks like their plans are literally dead with this…

4. Fades to black-high pitch music plays at same time
INT: BEDROOM – EARLY MORNING (2AM)
Both Connor and Ciara are having reoccurring flashbacks
of how they broke up with Nicole and Mark.
The way Connor broke up, through an argument with Nicole
and Ciara split with Mark, being down to her hitting him
over the head will be shown back and forth whiles they
both toss and turn a huge amount.
Ciara
ARHHHH!!
Ciara is awoken from flashback and screams considerably-
hits the bed with her hand in frustration
Ciara
Why did this have to happen?!
Falls back on to pillow and slowly back to sleep-takes 15
seconds
Connor
Don’t worry-we’ll come out as winners…
Connor Says this down Ciara’s ear whispering and in a
tired sounding voice
INT: LIVING ROOM’s – MID MORNING (10AM)
Switch between both couples planning the wedding and the
murder – across 40 seconds will see switching every 5
seconds and see Mark & Nicole look at things such as
pictures of possible venues, dresses and the final few
invites.
Connor & Ciara drawing visual plans of how they wish to
carry out the crime as well as possible them looking at
possible weapons and a glimpse of their master plan…
Nicole uploads a Facebook post about trip to Suit shop
for Mark in 4 days time-seen by Connor
Plays Dance of the Knights by Prokofiev in the background
throughout this scene

5. EXT: PUBLIC STREETS – MID AFTERNOON (3PM)
Connor & Ciara make their journey to outside the suit
shop where Nicole and Mark are coming to-30 seconds of
their walk to out side the shop with footage of various
locations on the route, and a 10 second wait outside the
shop.
Nicole and Mark then arrive at the store.
Connor & Ciara
Congratulations are in order for both of you…
This is said in an angered voice to Nicole and Mark
Nicole and Mark
Thanks you two
Mark
What on earth are you doing here?
Ciara
We are aren’t happy seeing you both together; it’s our
time to break your hearts-as you broke us two to pieces
Nicole
What the hell are you talking about? Is it all because of
you struggling to find permanent love?
Briefly cuts to black-intense and shock type music kicks
in
EXT: OUTSIDE SHOP – MID AFTERNOON (3:30PM)
Ciara attempts to kicks Nicole in the leg but Nicole
defends this through a punch in Ciara’s knee-Connor
responds with punch to Marks face which he lands; Nicole
scurries back and has his head in her hands.
At this point, Connor steps back opens his bag and pulls
out a kitchen roller.
Connor

6. You deserve this abuse Mark…
Connor swings down the roller which hits a hand; a hand
of a bystander called Paul (forty two) who intervenes the
brawl
Paul
MOVE AWAY!! What the hell are you doing both of you?
Ciara
Trying to kill these morons...
Ciara says this in a high pitched and angered voice
Paul
What reason do you both have for justifying this? Your
now on the edge of ruining everybody's lives here...
Connor throws the kitchen roller on to the pavement and
he and Ciara runs from the scene-and down the street as
quick as they can. Camera keeps track of them for around
10 seconds.
Connor
Maybe not today, but next time will be it!
Connor shouts this whilst running; about 6 seconds during
the 10 second period stated
Paul comforts Nicole and Mark after the ordeal once
Connor and Ciara are out of sight, with a hug between the
three of them lasting for four seconds
Nicole
Thank you ever so much-you've just saved our lives!
Mark
You are a hero-thank you from me!
Both say these lines with emotion in their voices-close
up camera shots to be used here
Paul
No worries at all; I only did the right thing
Another 3 second hug between the three of them-camera
zooms away into the distance
