As a ProgramManager Karin managed and balanced the right project

She steered major HR/HRIS/payroll Transformations and coached her
clients in a wide range of areas: program definition and management,
project approach, business roadmap and process workshops, business
solution design, development, test strategy, data conversion strategyand
approach.
As a certified Project Manager, Karin was responsible for all project
management activities: milestone planning, monitoring, activities and
resources, preparation of management decisions, quality assurance, issue
management and risk management.
Change Managementis one of her core competencies and as a certified
Change Managershe assisted at all sorts of transformations levels :
strategy, organizational, process improvement, roles & responsibilities,
roll-out, communication, training and documentation.
She worked with many clients in the private and public sector, local and
international and was involved in feasibility studies, business case
development, market searches and package/provider selection projects.
Competences as a HR & PM subject matter expert, coach and trainer.
Karin participated in many knowledge sharing activities for the teams of
consultants and clients she worked with. In her trainings Karin encourages
all participants to really participate, exchange experiences and above all
take new skills and insights home.
She was involved in several extensive pre-sales activities, the
development of service offerings, the development and integration of
several project and software implementation methodologies, the making
of proofs of concept, building and presenting proposals and extensive
demonstrations in Belgium, Europe and beyond.
Karin is very familiar with the bidding process, RFI’s (Request for Interest)
and RFP’s (Request for Proposal), pre- and sales processes, negotiations
for many different types of contracts, SLA’s and business deals.
Her aim is to enthuse, coach and support based upon her broad in depth
and hands-on experiences and to ensure that the knowledge transfer
takes place.
Karin strongly believes in people as the drivers for change, improvements
and results. She is convinced that everything can be achieved by focusing
on people and communications, never forgetting to leave room for
creativity and a pinch of fun. Her enthusiasm and empathy are greatly

• bpost group (incl. subsidiaries) 30.000
employees divided over various populations
• “iHRm Roadmap & Planning Tools” : new
platform to support HR Administration and
Payroll processes (Oracle PeopleSoft) +
outsourcing part of Payroll (SD Worx) +
integration with several off–the-shelf and
custom build Planning Tools
• Changes to processes, rules, organization,
roles & responsibilities and toolsets (HR
administration, Payroll, HR Reporting, business
operational agility tools, business reporting …)
• Old HRIS components were phased-out and
decommissioned
• In this leadership position Karin envisioned
and pursued at all times the objectives of this
Program within bpost’s strategy as a whole.
• Karin organized and managed the Program
reporting to the bpost Direction Committee
and Steerco set-up for this strategic multiyear
business critical Program
• In this position Karin managed the many
Program and Project managers, the different
providers (Capgemini, SD Worx, AE, Ortec,
several smaller HR, business & ICT third
parties) and led the Program Board and the
Steering Committee.
• Management of scope, budget and the overall
integrated Program planning with a focus onto
the critical path were Karin’s daily concerns.

Activities : eHR implementation PeopleSoft and payroll engine
• Scope : PeopleSoft Oracle and Acerta payroll
engine Elvire implementation.
• Several providers (Acerta, Oracle, PwC …) in
subcontracting of the prime provider, HP,
design, develop and implement
• Planning : 7 years and budget of >30 million
euros.
• Most important drivers were the integration
of all HR domains and processes, an improved
service level to all employees, the introduction
of employee and manager self-service and
better Business Intelligence
• The eHR-solution had to be implemented
gradually, module per module (basic HRadmin,
time, payroll, personnel- and cost planning,
strategic HR and BI) for 65.000 persons and
+2.000 first-line HR-users.
• End 2008 Karin started as the Program
Manager on invitation of HP (the main service
provider) and was HP’s main contact person
for the Federal Government.
• Karin managed all aspects of the Program for
HP, the different projects regarding scope,
timing and budget and all contact- and
contract management.
• She safeguarded progress and searched for
solutions for different issues and challenges.
• Karin managed the project managers of the
different providers and chaired the program
and project management meetings and
steering committee.
• In her role she led negotiations between the
many involved parties and executed an agile
conflict management.

Karin managed and coached a team of Project Managers and reported to the CEO and the directors
SME, LE and the Payroll Calculation division. She fulfilled her role while mainly focusing on following
2 dimensions of the program: 1. Executing the right set of projects to achieve the short and long
term business aspirations defined in the business roadmap (portfolio) and 2. Executing the projects
in an efficient and effective way by means of an adequate project methodology.

Karin was invited to lead 2 parallel tracks in the SME division:
1. Coaching the full SME division with building the business strategy and business roadmap.
2. Professionalize the business process coaches in PM and Change Management.

As PM Karin managed the market exploration for a new payroll provider, composed the RFP, led the
extensive analysis and coached the contractual negotiations. Additionally she defined the RFP for
the soft HR processes application for the 2 populations, temporary staff (interims) and own
personnel. She led the Steering and project status meetings. She coached and supported t-groep in
the following areas: blueprint, quality assurance, implementation, test strategy and planning,
transition, definition of SLA and all Change Management activities.
